LOL . Jack - probably unfair to take a one-line quote out of the whole post (in which you have captured the esence of modern football priorities - I'll admit) ....... but the implication that us actually winning the FA Cup and then playing in Europe is tantamount to failure and a 'worse case scenario' has made me chuckle somewhat ... is your idea of footballing success therefore Premiership mid-table stability? ... mine never has been - supporting your club is all about 'the dream' .... and trophies are mine.
So glad i didn't bother going, knew we would struggle as soon as you include Vardy, Wellens and Gallagher in the team your men down straight away, sounds like Nuge had a particularly bad night, but ive been saying for ages, the back up players we have are simply not good enough, it showed in the 1st match at hudds, and yet again last night. Wood is injured, which is a worry, Nugent can't have too many off days, as the rest of our strike force is cack, as soon as you take out, any of Drinkwater, Marshall, or Knockert our of midfield that too suffers Maybe the loss to posh was worse than last night, as instead of being 8 points behind cardiff given how results went, were now 11 points off them, and even worse down to 3rd, not sure how we would fair in the playoffs should we have to go through that lottery, but god help us if any of our main players are injured........
Your post takes me back to my younger days when I would have followed our football team to hell and back - indeed I did. Always remember it because I was at University and it was 28 January - I know because my girlfriends birthday was on the 29th. I'd been down to filbo on the Saturday 24 for the 3rd round FA Cup tie against the mighty Exeter City - we rose to the occasion and got a 1-1 draw 9in front of 21,000 I might add - the cup games were always packed in those days!!!!!) - anyway, it being proper football times the replay was on a Wednesday night in Exeter. So I got a coach back from Uni to Leicester on the following Wednesday and met my mates down at Humberstone gate at lunchtime - we managed to climb onto a mini-bus - over 20 of us in a 12 seater but we were all Leicester fans so we made do - travelled all that fookin way to Exeter to watch the useless bastard lose 3-1! - mini-bus back to Leicester (alternating from seat to floor every hour) arriving back in the early hours of the morning - straight onto coach back to Uni and managed to climb into the girlfriend's bed just before she had woken up and therfore able to give her the birthday card and 'present' shortly after ... bloody football team!! - have always let me down!
Shows how far things have moved at the KP. Look at your past 5 years. Where you are now is fantastic. Enjoy it. NP has you playing good football (usually)
Yeah we have only had to spend about 30M to get where we are No in all seriousness, Nigel has transformed the club alot on the pitch in the last 18 months. The owners have done the same thing to the club off the pitch
As fans you can't complain really. Remember being the GIANTS of League 1? "silverware, we don't care, follow City everywhere"
