Funny when you watch Spanish football there is normally , 8,9 or 10 bookings ( just watch how bookies price it up ) its basically a non contact sport , so it's surprising a Spanish ref was not on top of the Italian defenders behaviour .
I haven't seen replays (and probably won't) but from where I was sitting we seemed to play much better than what I expected, especially in the first half - for me we were lacking a player who could hold the ball up and indeed win the ball in the air in attack - we controlled the wings, we had 50 million crosses in but there was never anyone there who had a chance of receiving it. Anyway I'm ****ing devastated
I was left feeling very frustrated at his performance last night. In open play, his work rate and movement where good but at Corners he was pissing me off. He continued to do the same thing over and over again even tho he was geting no joy from Lichtenstiener/Buffon on the line. He is only young (in terms of a Striker) and he will learn/improve but I was shouting at the screen for him to move left/right, stand on the Penalty spot or even drift in from outside the box at Corners when it became obvious Juve where tight in the six yard line and the ref was letting fouls go.
I don't think any blame can be attached to him tbh Pud, if I was facing the treatment he was at every corner I would have lamped someone. The Ref was a joke.
I agree, the treatment was shocking but he never changed tact ... Top strikers wouldn't do this ... they change position at corners from time to time. Hooper just continued to stand in the same spot. I'm not blaming Hooper for the defeat, I'm just saying I would like to have seen him mix it up.
I think Lennon has told him to do it, hes done it in every champions league game so far and its worked a few times. Hooper is a bit of a midget and hes not going to be scoring headers from corners so...
Aye, surely Lennon's told him to persevere with it? I'd think instead of telling him to move elsewhere in the box, he's said to stay around the 6 yard box where he's pretty clinical and hope that with Lichsteiner's persistent shoving etc we'd maybe get a penalty.

Big Efe may want a word. Hardly as if Commons can talk - he was about 4 sotne overweight for the entirety of last season.
He was swapped in that 'messers' position with Wilson and Ambrose for a couple of the corners after he was booked. That was ok too. Hooper is a strong lad and that has caused trouble in the past for defences not as wily as theirs. Any other ref and he may have gotten a bit of joy.
Your number of bookings may be exaggerated Harry but generally I agree that one would have expected a much better performance from the referee and I'm at a loss to understand just what was going on with Alberto Undiano Mallenco - his performance was disgraceful. Having already yellow-carded Stephan Lichsteiner, he should have sent him off and awarded a penalty to Celtic instead of ignoring Lichsteiner's continued fouling of Gary Hooper and others. He also seemed to deliberately ignore other incidents which should have gone Celtic's way. That is not to say that we were not the architects of our own downfall, mainly attributable to Efetobore Ambrose Emuobo's mistakes and missing a 'sitter'. As has been said, we did have a go which was a credit to the team generally but in doing so, our defence was left exposed and the Juventus strikers were more than capable of exploiting any and every opportunity to the full.
Got to remember that Juve are Platini 's team and they will get every help from officials. FFS what other club could be done for match fixing and not be banned from European football for a decade. fair play Platini. Aye right ye UR ya plank.
In my opinion, Forest was no where near fit. Shouldn't have started. Mulgrew is not a midfielder...especially when you have Ledley or Kayal! Celtic where far to attack minded.
As I said yesterday, I will never criticise a Celtic side for being too Gung Ho, I like seeing it because it is supposed to be the Celtic way.
got to be with pud on this. mulgrew isn't good enough to start ahead of ledley, especially if he is not taking set pieces. forrest should not have started, would have preferred stokes or lassad to have gotten a game. we were also a wee bit to adventurous, leaving 2 on 2 at the back is asking for a skelping against a team like juve.
