I think the Newcastle and Liverpool board at one time had a whole thread for people 'repping' each other. <doh>

With all the delusional pool fans in the hundreds, I've always thought lower rep was the desirable stat.

I guarantee if it was Manchester United who had managed to do this the press would pedal it as some kind of victory for them. When you think about the last seven years and the fact we have managed to stay a competitive club not just through the uncertainty of paying off for a new stadium but also losing key world class players to other clubs then really we should be proud of ourselves. We could have scooped a few trophies on the way but it wasn't to be. I'm thankful for small mercies I guess. Chelsea and city fans would cream themselves to be in our position. When you have a billionaire owner running your club and financially doping your success the future is always uncertain in the event that the said billionaire leaves. Wenger may not have won us any trophies for the last seven years but he has made sure that we will be able to compete at a high level for the next few decades and for that I am forever grateful.

Since Man Utd started this freakish dominant period, they have spend BIG money on players, and have spent BIG money on their ground taking it in stages from 42,000 - 52,000 - 56,000 - 67,000 - 76,000. Were it not for teh Glasers there is talk that they would have gone on to 93,000.

All this while they have accumulated the trophies, and still attract the best players.

True, there is a big difference between Utd financial model and ours, which I guess is teh key to what AW has to spend, but just to say that we may not have trophies but at least we built a bigger stadium is, well, an oddly one-sided view.

Man Utd are bankrolled by the Glazers, but they have loaded the club with debt to the tune £360m. In two of the last three years they have made a loss, but this has been covered by the £80m they got for Ronaldo. Their on field success is masking the real economics behind the Glazers approach. Ask Utd fans if they are happy with the way the Glazers run the club. In November Malcolm Glazer took £140m for himself, money which was over half of the cash generated by shares in the club sold in the US. He also paid six of his family around £16m in 'consultancy fees'

The Glazers are profiteers and they are using Utd as a cash cow. There is no way I would want Arsenal to be run in the same way.

I have said it before - the ownership structure at UTD is not exactly great but as a financially run institution they blow us out of the water. Outside of the ownership structure their revenue destroys us (both cup related as well commercial). They are the second best run club in the world behind Bayern (ownership aside).

Does anyone know why they needed to bring those cancerous Glazers into the club? They were very profitable before. Unless of course they brought more to the table via global advertising....

The rest of your post sort of contradicts your opening statement. How can they be 'bankrolling' Man Utd if they don't put any money in, but instead take it out?
