This is where all rationality goes out of the window. Just because Suarez is the best player of Liverpool does not automatically mean that he is top 10. Liverpool is no longer a top team. The best player of Real, Barcelona, United, would be expected to be in there. But would the best player for Everton or WBA or Swansea automatically be top 10? Suarez does stick out of his team and has been key for his team on many occasions. But top 10 in the world? No way!
Michu 20th in the world ? Really? Barca probably have 10 players better than him , Real have various players better than him and so do United , Chelsea etc. Michu has had a good season but top 20 in the world ? No ****ing way.
If Michu signs for a bigger team at the end of the season - will he then be in the top 10 or is the current £2.2million paid for him not enough to warrant a place ? are you saying that Barca have 10 players in his position better than him or just 10 players. I guess the one left out is the Goalkeeper ? Michu is better than Barca's goalkeeper.
Regardless of who Michu signs for, if anyone, he still has alot more to do to justify being ranked 20th in the world imo. Obviously playing for a smaller club shouldn't effect peoples perception of how good they are (as LFC fans have shown with Suarez ) I don't mean in his position I mean the overall squad. Michu has has a good season but at the point in time I'd still take the likes of Alba, Busquests, Pique etc over him (I've not included the obvious ones). That could change in the future but there a far more players (more than 19 anyway ) who have performed at the highest standard for longer periods to justify being placed above Michu at the moment
I just don't see how we can seriously say that certain players are the best 10 in the world. Surely we should be picking our top starting 11 if we are to get the best players, because as much as Suarez is doing well at the moment, he wouldn't get in the starting 11 - neither would Rooney or Bale or Michu. If Messi was on one wing and Ronaldo on the other - then that's it for wingers. Possibly RVP would be in there more than the others but who would you rather have in goal or at centre half. Just seems like we are picking the top 10 individuals in the world. Man City have better individuals than Southampton - but we all know how that ended. And as for performing at the top for longer periods - that's been the downfall of every England manager for a long time. We should be going on current form, not historical performances. Liverpool have performed at the top level longer than Man City - what does that count for now ?
If you read my post properly then you will find i said he would break into the top 10 in a couple of seasons At the moment i would with his performance this season so far warrents a place in the top 20....and why not he is one of the highest goal scorers in the premiership who has scored against some of the best defenders in the premiership. just because he plays for swansea does not make him any lesser than if he played for united...
rvp is a good striker playing as an out and out striker for a far better team than liverpool and still utds main man. Yet, he has what 1 or 2 goals more than Average Suarez. Hardly world class, he is just doing his job steady.
If you play in England you can't be in the top 10 Real Madrid or Barca would have bought you if you were that good
Here is your original post : suarez, rvp and bale in the top 10, rooney around the 15th mark and michu around the 20th mark. rooney has slipped down the rankings this season while bale has climbed the table, Messi is out on his own by a clear mile but even he will drop down the table eventually. suarez has climbed the table just short of rvp who has carried on where he left off at arsenal, A new player who could make an impact into the top ten in a couple of seasons is michu but he will need a big club to do that, That implies he is top 20 now not in a couple of seasons. If your going to put things in bold at least don't make yourself look silly You talk of top 10 in a couple of years but currently around the 20 mark no ? I took exception to the current top 20 in the world rank. I have no idea where he will be in a couple of seasons. If you read MY post it clearly says regardless of who he plays for I don't think he is anywhere near the top twenty players in the world in my opinion.
Actually my original post to BBF said big games - I misquoted myself when replying to Lucas. You also appear to have missed the bit where I say he is definitely one of the top five players in the prem. Probably also one of the top ten strikers in the world this season. But like you say, top 10 in the world isn't determined by players in the PL. and top ten in the world isn't limited to strikers. And there are still more players around the world who have contributed more to their team, in bigger matches, than Suarez. Come on MITO, man up and read what I wrote
