And bloody Middlesbrough. What the hell was Warnock doing with his last sub? 1-0 down against 10 men with 5 minutes left, he takes off a midfielder for a defender.
Blackburn have just signed David Bentley. They could be the one who makes a late run for the play offs With Jordan Rhodes and DJ Campbell they have goals in them
... hate to say I told you so ... but ........... they've also just signed Kazim Rekik onloan from Man City - apparently a young central defender with a big future who has already made his prem debut for Citeh this season ... they are the BIG dangers to us all believe me. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/21459558
I always thought they had the potential to do it I just thought the off field circus wouod prevent them. It still might
Since we're not playing, here's the fixtures to keep an eye on: Cardiff v Bristol City Hull v Charlton Birmingham v Watford Crystal Palace v Middlesbrough Blackburn play in the Cup and Brighton have a free weekend too. Obviously Palace v Boro we could do with a draw, but our other three rivals all play bottom ten teams. Still, this is an unpredictable league...
Poor set of results. We really are going to have little room for error for the remainder of the season. Watford's goal difference is getting better and better, and where only rival might fail, there's a couple there to keep the pressure on us. We don't really want to think about the play-offs because Blackburn may well sneak in the back door there. We really just have to keep winning and keep slip-ups to a minimum.
Things can change very quickly If we win on Tuesday and Hull lose we will be 3 points behind with 2 games in hand. Hull have the advantage of having the points on the board but by no means are we out of this Watford and Palace are 2 and 3 points ahead of us but we have 2 games in hand on them. So potentially we are ahead of them still Whatever way you look at it we need to win on tuesday
We're defo not out of it. You don't go from being in the driving seat to being out of it without even playing! Hull have made it as difficult as humanly possible and we certainly can't discount the threat of Watford. But as you said, those game in hand could still working in our favour if we narrow the six point gap before even using them. Hull have a tricky fixture against Arsenal's conquerors Blackburn next, after than three of four of their fixtures are away from home. Watford appear to have some very winnable games coming up, but as long as we match them result for result and get at least four points from those games in hand, there's nothing they can do. Time to hold our nerve and believe in ourselves.
Spot on - but let's not kid ourselves the heat is really on for us and for Nigel ... the loss against Huddersfield is looking more and more damaging - if you look who has qualified for the FA Cup quarter finals so far, Millwall, Barnsley and Blackburn the potential for reaching an FA Cup semi-final is there for all to see - we need to beat Charlton convincingly otherwise this season could start to slip away from us ....
If we are to end in the season in 2nd then we need to prove to be the best (Other then Cardiff of course)
