As I mentioned earlier, I'd quite like to see Simpson and Stewart start up front, I just don't think Bruce has any plans to involve Stewart at all.
Remind me to give you another batch of your anti-stupid drugs when I see you tonight as you have obviously ran out Simpson is bad enough, but Simpson AND Stewart, you crazy!! I'd give Big Nick another go tonight. OJ has had a couple of games and still not scored, surely Nick deserves another chance.
Koren/Simpson look useless, Simpson/Proschwitz look useless, Koren/Proschwitz look useless, at least the last time we saw Simpson/Stewart up front they looked good, all the other combo's haven't(I always preferred Stewart up front). Personally, I'd start with Gedo/Simpson and pull Gedo at half time if we need to, but that's not much more likely than Simpson/Stewart. What do you think about giving Dougie a go up front?
I had a dream last night that Simpson scored the winner from close range in a 1-0 victory. It was one of those vivid dreams that seems so real at the time. I only remembered whilst reading this thread.......
Well of course Dougie should start, we'd be 4-0 after 15mins I don't think Koren/Big Nick have had a fair go, certainly not at home, when we do play differently to how we do away, and it isn't going to click instantly, giving them 1 or 2 games max isn't fair, especially when you consider how long we have persevered with Simpson up top. I missed most of Sat's game so didn't see enough of Gedo to gain any real opinion on him, think it's a bit much to expect him to start, but if he is fit enough then why not.
I'm looking forward to seeing Gedo tonight. I too missed the Brighton game due the pubs in Leeds appearing to outright deny the existence of the game as a broadcastable entity. Therefore I'm looking at this tonight afresh. Surely it's time we clicked back into form? I think we'll see a performance tonight.
The debate about strikers emphasises that we still lack the component in the team that successive managers have failed to get - namely a big bullying target man who can scare the **** out of defenders and make space for others to score. Basically we need another Billy Whitehurst, but with enough technical ability to hold the ball up (and not fall on his arse every time he gets in the 6yard box). I think SB thought Prozzy was that player due to his height, but I remember commenting on here before we signed him that on his Youtube 'goals' clip most were scored without a decent challenge by a defender. Jonesy's comments about Germans not liking it up 'em sprang to mind and he seems to have struggled with the added physical element. On the plus side I thought Gedo looked sharp and enthusiastic in his cameo against Brighton and I liked the way he positioned himself on the last defender's shoulder without being caught offside. I've got a feeling he's got a lot of goals in him and hopefully we won't have to wait too long to see them.
Sheff United away on boxing day anyone? When Simpson got his 3rd and 4th in 2 games after not scoring in his first 17 was it? What an away day that was. Stewart was putting things on a plate for Simpson in those two games, the Bristol and Sheffield ones.
Gedo needs to force himself into the starting lineup by having a good performance off the bench today.
HDM stating that the rams have got problems at centre back so nice that we're taking some pressure off by playing a non scoring centre forward and a midfielder upfront. it also helps out Buckingham who can start writing his "Bruce bemoans lack of cutting edge" article before the match has even kicked off.
frustrating this, with just a text feed to go on. sounds like we have most of the play (as usual) but no end product yet.
