@shelveyJ: Love people giving me stick .. When half of people on here haven't got a clue what they're on about. #welldone #keyboardwarriors While he speaks the truth about some cretins on twitter (I'm hoping hes responding to the "I hope you die" arses) he shouldn't however react after that type of individual & team performance. Because they may not have a clue mate but then again, they aren't trained by experts everyday in technique, fitness, diet, and yes media. They can still call ineffectual **** when they see it. I mean my Jack Russell puts your effort into his walk but I still don't think he deserves a crufts ribbon for it...... What they do do: pay your wages be it by going to the match or buying your match on TV or buying the paraphernalia. You don't deserve abuse but then I don't see you on twitter telling the lick arses you don't deserve the rim job either. Looks like you've still a lot of work to do boy.
Shelvey was piss poor tonight, but wasn't alone in that regard. Out of all the 'youngsters' who have enjoyed 1st team football in the last season or two,he is the one I don't see making the grade.
He certainly ain't good enough to be a first 11 player for us in the PL - I thought borini would have been a dead cert to start after Sturridge being unavailable. Weird
Quite right he is a very silly boy. However you want to look at it he was **** tonight. He therefore deserves the stick that he is getting for his performance. He now needs to do 2 things: (1) Up his performance (2) Grow up be a man and learn when to keep stum and take it on the chin
I honestly don't care what they say on twitter in the heat of the moment. What I do care about is watching an absolutely piss poor performance from a host of players. Shelvey was probably the worst of the lot but why the **** was he there in the first place? Terrible terrible team selection but in no way does that deflect from what were some individual performances I'd have been ashamed of from Conference level players. I can forgive a bad performance especially from a young player but what isn't so easily forgiven is a total lack of effort and boy did he lack effort tonight. I don't want to single him out particularly because from front to back I can think of only two players (maybe three with Reina) who deserve to be wearing that shirt after tonight. I thought we were bad against Villa but in terms of effort tonight was just as bad. In terms of basic football standards it was far worse. The pace of the game from us was ridiculously slow, final ball horrendous, set pieces as bad as I've ever seen, shooting was woeful, movement off the ball all wrong and never seen so many poor first touches from a Liverpool team in all my life. Well done to Steve Clarke for a job well done though
I agree with your sentiments towards Steve Clarke. And i agree with your assessment of the debacle tonight, almost everyone around me made Shelvey the whipping boy as i did but as you say it wen't deeper than that because the majority in the red shirt looked like they couldn't give a ****, and whether its a corner, free kick, through ball or throw in we almost always find an opposition player. I got the impression earlier in the week that Shelvey('i live next door to Stevie G')thinks hes the dogs bollocks and no longer has to pull his finger out and tonight he kind of confirmed it, we must be paying him to much and the same goes for Sterling who's form dipped after he got his payrise. I don't think BR is a motivator, he seems more of a disciplinarian, especially with the younger players when he bollocks them in public, Steve Clarke is doing a great job at The Baggies and maybe if FSG would have had an advisor with Prem experience instead of ex-pat non-entities they would have given him a season in charge to prove himself.
Jonjo could learn a lot from Lucas and Henderson. I know he is a young lad and no one should have to take the amount of abuse he's probably had but then, no one forced him to be on twitter either! He needs to sort his self out as he's really gone off the rails lately.
When you open yourself up by creating a public 'space' to interact with the fans, what the **** do you expect? Of course they'll rip you apart if you play ****, however they'll lick your arse when you play well. Quit twitter or grow a pair of balls. Moron.
Really disappointed in Jonjo. I thought he would be able to push on this season but it looks as if he's taken a backwards step. I still believe he is a very raw talent and can develop into a top midfielder. I remember when he first came and he had such great belief and confidence in his ability - spraying long balls, getting stuck in etc, almost an arrogance about him and not being intimidated by senior players.
Shelvey seems to have sone a Torres. He was playing with a smile on his face and putting in good performances, recently he's seemed to be sulking or arguing with/complaining at the ref and he's been poor.
If you're going to tweet; @DanielAgger: I agree with most of you. My performance the last 10 minutes of yesterday's game was NOT good enough. It's as simple as that!!!!! Not petulance: acceptance. Wiser head.
This... @shelveyJ Just heard that u posted this. After that performance the whole lot of you need to keep quiet and work at what is wrong. @shelveyJ As fans we can take losing if we see effort but it was lacking last night and I'm afraid you didnt play well so expect some stick. ...
