Very pretty city is Stockholm and it will be getting a bit warmer...but it is very expensive, especially for a beer or 2. If you can take a boat trip around the islands, very pretty. The old town on Gamla Stan is a must and get to eat down there if you can - again expensive, but very nice. I used to travel there and the other Nordic capitals quite a bit with work and used to love taking the overnight ferry from Stockholm to Helsinki - absolutely breathtaking in winter when the sea is full of ice.
Cheaper than Stavanger (marginally) maybe Mr H has heard of all these blonde swedish masseurs Seriously its a brilliant city ,very friendly would`nt bank on sleepin too much
