Cardiff away – lose Palace away – lose Barnsley home – win Blackpool away – draw Brighton home – draw Middlesbrough home – win Wolves away – draw Derby away – lose Sheffield Wednesday home – win Burnley away – draw Bolton home – draw Birmingham home – draw Hull City away – lose Huddersfield home – win Charlton away – draw A total of 50 from 46 games. What do you, the fans, think? Do you believe 50 points will be enough or do you think City may do even better and survive comfortably? Should the Robins escape, then which teams will go down instead and with how many points? http://www.thisisbristol.co.uk/JOIN...tory-18126324-detail/story.html#axzz2KgfBiToG
My prediction is that their prediction is wrong. On current form think City will finish with more points, either way think we will be safe. The team is doing well, SOD is looking to bring loanees in, Albert is coming back and if/when Brian Howard signs it will also improve our current squad. I can only see positives at the moment. and.... thats not even including the fact we have a very long injury list.
Cardiff away – lose Palace away – lose Barnsley home – win...............................KILLER Blackpool away – draw Brighton home – draw Middlesbrough home – win Wolves away – draw....................................KILLER Derby away – lose Sheffield Wednesday home – win...........................KILLER Burnley away – draw Bolton home – draw Birmingham home – draw Hull City away – lose Huddersfield home – win.......................KILLER Charlton away – draw 4 KILLERS = 12 POINTS = 43 POINTS GAINED! BUT NEED ANOTHER 12 and who will they be? WE CERTAINLY WILL NOT DRAW 7 SOD IS WIN IT OR LOSE IT.....
Cardiff away – lose Palace away – lose Barnsley home – win Blackpool away – lose Brighton home – draw Middlesbrough home – win Wolves away – lose Derby away – draw Sheffield Wednesday home – win Burnley away – draw Bolton home – draw Birmingham home – draw Hull City away – lose Huddersfield home – win Charlton away – lose That's 17 points gained to leave us with 48
It is good to see optimism returning to the board players directors and fans at Ashton Gate following a few good results under O Driscoll, good grief his interviews are sooo boring, he talks sense (if you bother listening to him yawn) but sounds as if he is depressed or on a downer.Does he talk to players like that or just the media, mr motivator he is not, but what the hay, results are what count. My opinion for what it is worth (calm down Rodders) its far to early to predict that many matches ahead, the improvement is dramatic especially the last two games however everybody is getting ahead of themselves, like Rovers enjoy the ride/moment at least you can now look forward to games with positivity and pride returning to the club win lose or draw its worth watching. As for results a 1-0 win against Cardiff followed by a draw at Palace will keep the run going until Barnsley View attachment 21429 . City's form following 3 wins is now mid table (12) unfortunately Cardiff are 2nd and really in form at least you can turn up with hope that you will score on the break and frustrate Cardiff to overturn the form guides. Oh will you stay up with 45 pts to play for at least now you stand a chance under McInnes you were dead certain to take the drop. COR
Cardiff away – lose Palace away – draw Barnsley home – win Blackpool away – lose Brighton home – draw Middlesbrough home – win Wolves away – draw Derby away – lose Sheffield Wednesday home – win Burnley away – draw Bolton home – win Birmingham home – draw Hull City away – lose Huddersfield home – win Charlton away – draw 21 points from the remaining games will leave us on 52 points at the end....Will it be enough to survive ?
I've never been a betting man and am also a pessimist, glass half empty, by nature. As a City fan I have, due to my nature, thought that "Always Believe" should be succeeded by "that if any team can mess up, it's Bristol City". Yet, in spite of all that, I believe that we will stay up again this season.
SOD has landed some good results, but I cannot see it lasting. We'd need to step it up even more to fight off relegation, and even if we do survive this season who is to say that the players won't give up under SOD like they did under McInnes? The club needs more than new players and a new manager. Even if we stay up we cannot sustain our Championship status, and there will be next to no improvements to the squad in the summer unless SOD works some magic and buys a ton of great players for nothing in both transfer and wages. It is gravely important for us to resolve both the new academy and to sort out Ashton Vale, because even if we defy all odds and survive we'll probably be in the exact same position next year, with another new manager, no cash and no new stadium.
Bristol City have been very poorly run since we went up to the Championship by a series of poor managers bringing in even poorer players whilst the top brass sat idly by and did nothing. The losses have mounted up each year and how anyone cannot accept the responsibilty for poor management is beyond my belief. No business should be run this way and expect to survive in the long term and surely there must have been someone around Ashton Gate that should have asked why this was happening, but no we just kept plodding blindly down the same path and making even worse decisions. That's it pure and simple and if we survive this season then next season has to be a year of major changes within the organisation come hell or high water. Underperforming and overpaid players will no longer be welcome at Ashton Gate because their lousy attitude, and poor decisions from the top, have put us in this terrible position where we can only talk about survival rather than more positive things. Rant over, and how nice it could be if the supporters of Bristol City had a contending team to follow because, you know what, they really deserve it don't they?
When I go to post my reply the site keeps asking if I want to leave the page and as soon as I reply to that command it double posts. Can anyone fix it?
Don't worry about it Mike, it's an updating of the site thing, initiated by the owners and we are all suffering from it...
