Sorry to say it was true I used to be on the Scrump every night twice as much on a Sat night if we lost.
Mind you I never ever suffered from constipation in those days.

Elliot did ok yesterday, not the Marv from a few seasons ago, but nevertheless put a decent shift in considering his preparation.

I've always liked Marv for his sheer dedication to the cause, probably one of the reasons I can't stand Kilkenny.

Have a feeling SOD rates Marv more than Banksy or ROD.

    I'm happy with that.

That's ok then as long as you are happy we can call of the search for a new midfielder, maybe SoD looked at his options and thought I ain't got no choice but to play Bambie on ice.

I know this is going to open up a can of worms, but Marv played his best when partnering You-know-who.
Those two together were in tune with each other and a major reason why we spent all our first season in the top 6.
I really hope that he gets his form back because when in form he is a rock in the centre - provided he has a clever player as a mf partner with good vision and can turn the tackles Marv makes into clever passes.

    Please stop being silly.
If Junior was half the player you say he is then Chesterfield or Kilmarnock would have kept him.
Marv isn't the player he was due to injury and doing Junior's leg work.
    Junior 'killed' Marv.

    ROD
'maybe SoD looked at his options' - Spot on, Marv was the best available.
'we can call of the search for a new midfielder' - you're being obtuse again.

    Hello RP.

I thought that might provoke a response ;)

As usual we don't exactly see eye to eye on Junior but I wasn't expecting the accusation of manslaughter to be aimed at him!

By the way, are you still playing?

Marvin Elliot has been a great servant for us, he has always had a great heart for the cause and I will always remember him fondly..

However, He was ****in terrible first half on Saturday (better after the goal!) you could have picked someone out the crowd with a better touch.

Hey ho, it happens, I still don't think he is anywhere near fit. like I said before I would take him with no boots on before Kilkenny..

    Morning R&W

'By the way, are you still playing?' - Yes - if you can still call it 'playing'.
Every Wednesday 6 a side, slower and slower..................

    About Junior 'killing' Marv -
I love racing and I see horses that never ever recover when you get to 'the bottom of them'.
I know you're thinking he's on the tablets again but I do honestly worry that happened to Marv.
Hope I'm wrong and it's his serious injury that he's not fully recovered from.
Also hoping 'game time' and SOD will get Marv back to somewhere near his former glory.

    Me too.
I do think a big key to getting Marv back to his best will be a CM partner he can strike an understanding with. I know we don't agree on LJ - and that's all in the past anyway, but looking forward we need someone alongside Marv that can form that partnership and I do not think Killa is the one.

In my opinion Kilkenny is a far better player than Junior but I'd pick Junior/my Dad ahead of Kilkenny every time.
At least Junior's attitude was for the team as all bloody Kilkenny does is moan, whinge and chuck his arms up in the air.

Early days for SOD but even I can't fault any decision of his so far.
I missed the Ipswich win (racing) when Kilkenny played.
It will be interesting what SOD does when he has Skuse, Kelly, Kilkenny and Marv to pick his CM.
If SOD goes with Kilkenny I will be watching closely.
Who knows SOD might just have the wherewithal to put Kilkenny on the straight and narrow.
    But I seriously doubt it.

I think Kelly will be the first on the sheet out of that lot. Strange that when he joined he was billed as a attacking midfielder but I see him becoming the defensive one in the centre.

And as to the Kilkenny comment, I agree if he stopped his petulant whining and moaning then maybe we could get to see a consistent player instead of this one that shows us one or two games a season, he can play well.

He needs someone to sit down with him and say "look Neil for a Australian you are a bit of a girl who crys when a tackle comes in, so why don't you play further up the field as an attacking midfielder" but unfortunately he won't listen to them :(

Either that or tell him to **** off and find another club!
