It will be of no comfort whatsoever to Liverpool fans, but tonight was the kind of game that keeps football interesting! It looked all-ends-up that WBA would get beaten - with 19 shots from Liverpool and 4 from West Brom, it's a steal for the Baggies. Ben Foster MOTM? Indeed he was. It's a ****e result but in general, Liverpool are going in the right direction.
Really no need to take your frustration on me How did you lose a match like this? Rodgers and the fans were all geared to challenge for 4th ( he has said it often enough) so when you lose a match like this home then people are bound to express their surprise. To be honest liverpool's inconsistency reminds me of teams like...WBA. That is we just do not know what type of performances AND results will come next...some would say this is classical mid table team performance...
I thought that I'd wait a while to give my considered opinion on what transpired. It hasn't helped BUGGER **** **** ****ING USELESS BASTARDS Nite Nite Everybody
Look at the stats that count, 6 on target for pool, 3 for the baggies. Poor shooting from one of them.
As Ferguson was fond of quoting when Young was throwing himself onto the floor when Derry brushed his finger against his shirt, "There was contact". Are you denying that, not only was there 'contact', but he actually ran into him? as i say, I agree with Neville that if penalties are given for that there's no hope for defenders - it wasn't a pen. But the handball was more blatant than the one you got in cup against West Ham, though not as obvious as the one west ham didn't. So no, by today's standards Suarez didn't 'dive', he just made no attempt to stay on his feet when obviously shoved by a larger, heavier player. As for lawton, he belongs to the Suarez-kissed-his-wrist-to-rub-it-into-the-poor-Mansfield-fans school of one-eyed, self-serving dogshit, along with Samuel and Champion: none of these commentators said a peep when Suarez was karate chopped on his neck at Norwich five yards in front of the referee and no pen was given, or when Huth stamped on him right in front of another ref. Not exactly an unbiased arbiter of truth, is the old drunken ham?
Watch it again, Suares actually ran backwards into Olson in an attept to reach a ball going over his head (no penalty). However the ref bottled the more obvious handball because i think he was unsure about the first pen he gave.
Another Ferguson quote. "'Don't try and stay on your feet if you're in the box and get a slight kick," http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11667_2215755,00.html
They ran into each Diego, Suarez backwards, Olsen forward. Pure physics means the heaviver man, moving forwards, will come off best, and Suarez went over like a sack of **** when contact was made. No pen, but no 'dive' either. Not that I'd ever pretend Suarez doesn't dive - he does. He dived in this game on at least two occassions, but, as said, the only game I can remember where he was kicked even more was against Stoke. But NO sour grapes against the Baggies. We haven't progressed from kenny last season regarding dominating home games and not being able to put the ball in the net. Good on west Brom that they 'withstood' the onslaught that is Borini and scored two goals of their own.
Our passing was a ****ing disgrace! Not that others were much better but Enrique and Shelvey were shockingly woeful. After watching fifteen to twenty minutes, I though it had a loss writen all over it. I had a feeling we'd miss the penalty and also got a feeling they'd score from the corner for their first too. Soon as we went behind the heads seem to drop. Not good enough!!! Can't think of a positive either PS...I stayed up for that bollox too
