Stands back and waits for a bile filled Fire@Fewings in the HDM on Wednesday.
Did I read somewhere that one of 'FC Faithfull' has been posting that the boulevard was 'worth £3.5m' and that Boothferry Park was valued at £2m, in relation to who contributed what when the KC was first built?
And these people seriously believe it!

I doubt it unfortunately... "15,000 (blinkered) rugby league fans" will have lapped up every word Geraghty said as the truth. On the RL forum, someone actually commented "This bloke from the council who is on is ace!" ...you HAVE TO be blinkered if you think anything Geraghty spouts is "ace".

Is this the same Boulevard land in the rump end of West Hull that has laid idle for a decade and now is only suitable for a new primary school - a valuable piece of real estate my arse.

Compare that to BP on a main dual carriageway into Hull and now, belatedly I agree, the site of a new private housing estate.

So you think it's OK for councillors to be wasting taxpayers money on discussing the goings-on at their favourite sports club? It's nothing to do with the council, they should be spending their time on much more important matters to the city.

I would have expected and hoped for some conciliatory proposals from Councillor Geraghty- he is after all a local politician with decades of experience of mediating to seek satisfactory outcomes.

Unfortunately he seemed perplexed by the simple questions put to him and spoke haltingly.

I expect him and his cronies to badmouth the Allams as a way of reassuring the electorate that Labour are there to protect the Council Crown Jewels against the rampant asset stripping capitalist Allams.

Some smart media work required by City to outflank them whilst offering an olive branch.

Where have the extra 6,000 RL fans suddenly come from then?

City should present Hull with a special engraved SAT NAV set for the KC Stadium. It's help they need not ridicule.

Apart from saying that this whole subject is a pile of small-minded nonsense, I have absolutely nothing to say.

    P.S. - Grow up everybody....

As it's only £20 a week per hero, I wonder if any Rovers fans fancy having a few pictures of Roger Millward scattered around the place?

It makes no less sense than John Whitney being an FC legend.

**** me. Does he make big decisions?

Mr Geraghty why shouldn't Hull FC pay if Hull City are?

ermmm mumble waffle, because Hull City were Division three when the stadium opened.

Mike White did very well in that interview. Can you imagine how it would have gone had Gollum managed it?

Best moments for me were when Geraghty was petitioning for sport in Hull to be unified......Oh! The Irony!

And secondly when he said he couldnt believe Rovers fans would be happy about this either!!!! A real Alzheimer's moment!

I don't particularly like the twat but he did make a good point when he said the council would not make their tenants pay to put pictures on the walls of their council houses if they are paying their rent. Why should FC OR City pay for this privalige.

But in effect, the council has entrusted the SMC to make the white elephant Circle pay its way. The Allams know how to make money, and so far over a ten year period, the white elephant has lost it. What was missing from Geraghty's analogy is that if a tenant in any property, either council or other, is unhappy with the terms of their rental agreement, in a free society, they can move on to find what they want. Assuming they have not damaged or defaced any existing fixtures in the property, they will even get their bond back in full. Presumably £600k or thereabouts.

Because effectively they're putting the pictures and furniture up in their neighbours council house.

I'm not saying I agree with it, but I suspect the argument is that by displaying the memorabilia, the clubs arelaying claim to the room they're in. In that context, it's not unreasonable to charge for room rental in a public building. In fact, it could be misapropriation to not charge.

They wouldn't charge people to get in and charge them for food and drink while they are there either, the two are not comparable.

Just listened to the interview. Gosh, the man just oozes culture. <laugh>

Says a lot for the Hull City Council that when they where giving out the portfolios and it came to the one involving 'Culture' they decided that Geraghty was the man best suited for the job. <doh>
