That would be like expecting any football loving fans of Man City to cheer on Man Utd if they were in the European Final. The problem with Hull City is, the majority of sports fans in Hull do NOT support them, or their stupid "sport", so, taking a stance of "well why can't you all just get along" is never going to happen. That forum sums up for me what I thought of most HC fans I've met. Buncha cocks, like most other people who support any type of rugby. I've said before, it's a good way to keep 30 thugs and their fans off the streets on a weekend.
The problem with Hull Sharks is you'll find what seems the vast majority of them are also Man Utd/Liverpool fans and yes almost unbelieveably some are even LEEDS UNITED fans. Theres some bell end on one of the RL fans forums with a Hull Sharks/Leeds United banner ffs.
You're right it is childish - that said I hate most Hull FC fans with a passion - ridiculed by them in the early 80's when I was heavily involved in supporters and action groups held at Chalk Lane Club in the heartland of Ezzle Rerd left a lasting stain on me that has never gone away. Now we've had ten years of unrivalled success they despise us even more. The jealousy of finally getting to the PL and the national attention that brought has unhinged them further. The 'rivalry' has become almost as intense as the hatred between the two Sheffield clubs and the two Bristol Clubs. Trouble is we share the same ground.
Almost every FC fan that I know and plent of Reevers fans as well adopt a top six PL team and wear their shirts .. I've tried to fathom this out - maybe its because the parochial Hullites can only relate to a regional game that isn't expensive to support with a pretty good chance of winning matches. They know all about the PL and watch the games in the local pubs but can't for some strange reason find it in them to follow City.
I haven't heard it first hand, but someone's just told me that Papa Allam has said the charge per game for Deano's memorabilia is....now bare in mind this'll be the same as their hero...have a guess...how much per game are we talking...it's had top level Council time...Peter Levy on the job... .. .. £20... Nothing like Man City and Man Utd. They're rivals... Hull City and Hull FC will NEVER play each other... ever. I support both sides. They're two completely different sports. Is there anyone on here who only plays one sport and wouldn't consider playing another? They're entirely different entities and there's no reason to argue. I think the Allams are a bit out of order on this to be honest as I can't see why a change was necessary... But that's it.

I accept there are people like you to your credit that support both Hull or Rovers and City - my observations over the past three decades has been one of anomosity rather than rivalry then between most FC fans and City. For what its worth taking down Johnny Whiteleys picture from the Carter/Whiteley suite is very petty and one bound to court controversy - John himself has to his credit always been very pro City. This episode needs putting to bed asap.
on the rugby board, they're insisting it needs to be either joint ownership or independent SMC. Perhaps they should ask their board why they didn't take up the option when it was offered. They look to blame everyone but themselves. Over a year ago their club new about this and did nothing.
Agreed Whitely is an untouchable in this city- the man is beyond any sort of criticism. I wish City had someone like him to represent us. But to manipulate the scenario so that it seems City are disrespecting JW is extremely ****ish IMO. The pics are coming down because of unpaid fees not as an insult to Hull's players.
