Feel as if Shelvey is the weak link at the moment, our midfield looks clustered when both him and Suarez are dropping back deep and it's leaving Downing out wide but with no one ever in the box. Bring Borini on play for the formation that's been successful against both Arsenal and City, if it isn't broken, don't fix it.

Poor selection by BR, always thought Shelvey lacks the pace and movement to play in an advanced role, he's had a poor half and by moving Henderson to the wing, made him ineffective as well. I hope shelvey is subbed early. If Coutinho does get an opportunity, wouldn't be the ideal game to debut. The pressure would be up if he haven't scored by the 70th minute.
He's a Brazilian so that would be perfect pressure for him. Shelvey has been poor. Johnson has been poor for me, not Enrique. Johnson has forgotten his defensive duties and needs to get rid of the ball earlier. Enrique has been solid in attack and stopping the counterattack.
Take Shelvey off put Sterling on the left to run at Reid who's having a mare. Suarez through the middle. Job done.

There was a perfect example of our problems defending in midfield. Lucas try's to anticipate & tackle, misses & the rest of our midfield around him literally stand still & watch the opposition run into the hole hes left with the ball. Happened constantly with Allen too. Downing has been one of our best players tonight.
