I Will post link later, news coming out of denmark via his agentthat a new deal Will be signed to keep him here until the summer of 2015 Great news !!
His current contract expires summer 2014, I believe, so that's a 1-year extension. Better than nothing, I guess!
http://translate.google.co.uk/trans...a=X&ei=YPgYUdq9Fsqs0QWvm4CgCQ&ved=0CDMQ7gEwAA Michael Laudrup has been clear in his voice. He will not discuss a contract extension with Swansea. But it will be his agent and adviser like. And thus do Laudrup camp a real u-turn that is guaranteed to add excitement to Swansea. . The club's Danish manager should now be ready to discuss the extension, Swansea so want. - Yes, Swansea has a strong interest in extending Michael Laudrup's contract, says Michael Laudrup's agent and advisor Bayram Tutumlu Ekstra Bladet. - And in the coming days, we will meet with Swansea and discuss the possibility of an extension, says Michael Laudrup's adviser.
If true then thats great news ,a bit of stability is what we need right now just for us to get established at this level .
IF true, fantastic news ! 1 year extra is worthits weight in gold when you take into account Laudrup is a stickler for not overcommiting (ie turning down 'pool when they changed his playing contract from 3 to 4 yrs). This will definately give the club more pulling power for this summers signings if he commits!
Not done and dusted but the indications are that he intends to stay a bit longer. He is the type of guy to stick to contracts so maybe its a sign that he is more than happy here but understands that football can change so no over commitment either, i think he looks at his own personal health and desire as opposed to securing millions in the bank. If he gets fed up he strikes me as a guy that likes to finish his deal and waklk away with zero fuss. His press conferences are totally different now to earlier in the season, you see a very relaxed and happy guy ,crcking the odd joke with the press so its clear he is very comfortable in his surroundings, which seems to be the most important criteria to fill for him and his family .
My pants need cleaning again. Thought it was hysterical on Football Focus on Saturday when Coleman who was standing next to Savage and Laudrup and isn't particularly known for his sense of humour said "Of course me and Michael were similar types of player". Fair play, they all fell about laughing. Then the interviewer rubbed it in by saying at the end "Thanks Michael for being interviewed in the presence of two footballing greats" (Laudrup just smiled). You're right, NJ I get the feeling he's much more relaxed these days and hopefully he'll be happy to extend. Depends on his family too I suspect and how well they've settled in.
Er...OK. Just thought it was great to see the show presented from our Club. We moan when we don't get coverage, but maybe it's better if we're ignored then.
Hmmm only 2015 ? I've got a feeling it'll be 2016 he signs too. Can't say too much yet but my sauce ( ol' hp ) whose a regular down the crab and scratchit, well his mate mingin mike the cesspit cleansing operative who used to play sweeper for Dangerous Dai ( not that one ) the cloak room attendant's ol' team, fell over someone earwiggin under the rest room door who swears he wasn't earwiggin but had fainted when he heard someone in a Danish accent telling his missus too extend their Bingo Club membership in Morriston until 2016 when he was last down the Liberty on a seminar ! S'funny that, the bloke he fell over was called D....... Denzil like his cousin. The stammer hasn't got any better you see but it's my bet that it's going to be 2016 mark my words!
Well that's that put to bed .... 2016 done deal! The bookies will probably stop taking bets and start paying out already
ML knows that if Swansea is going to sign any major players this summer, one of the attractions for a player to sign would be to work with ML and the new signings needs to know that he's not gone after one season. So him doing contract extension now is actually very important for the preparations of next season.
Of course, you're right in that respect. I just felt the content was aimed at 5-year olds and I was disappointed.
We sometimes expect too much. Just because we want content that will intrigue us longstanding fans, they were always going to play to the masses and give an Idiots Guide so to speak. Perhaps there were many new Swansea fans out there who would have found the beginners guide helpful. Hopefully it will help set them in the path of enlightenment! I live in hope BBC Wales may actually provide something more substantial after the last decade, but I doubt it. It would probably have to come from an independant company (like the Dutch programme about our/Exeter's last game in 2003...a really good watch)
The trouble is as a club prior to 2002 we were just another little club who yo yo'd up and down the leagues with a very brief visit to the Ist divison , it's easy for the media to trot out the very recent potted history of the club as to either fill a quarter page of a sports page or a 5 TV slot. We're probably more famous now than ever and for the right reasons so what ever positive exposure we get then I'm more than grateful for . I have a video copy of that dutch Documentary sent free of charge from a Dutch fan at the time of which I still think was extremely generous of the guy .
Well I thought the football focus was pretty good, though I thought the interview with Huw was to short, and not indepth enough, but maybe it was down to the fact that Fergie was being interviewed next!..........
