Just read this article ... http://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/sp...es_third_in__Czech_Talent_of_the_Year__award/ Well done to Matej, but what caught my eye was the lad who came first, Tomas Kalas, a 19 year old defender playing for Vitesse on loan from Chelsea who can play as a right sided centre back. Do you rekon this is the sort of player we should attempt to get in if we go up? Not sure Chelsea would want to sell him but it would be benificial for them and the player to have a couple of seasons playing in the Premier League before making the step up to Chelsea's first team. We will need a couple of defenders if we go up, And Zola must have connections still at Chelsea? I know im thinking a bit far ahead but no harm in discussing! Here is his wiki page... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tomáš_Kalas
Seems like the only one we're certain to be without on Friday is Nos..all the others could feature on the bench if nothing else..
Good article in the Independent. http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/...fers-watford-to-the-eternal-city-8486164.html
I think this is the embargoed news: http://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/sp...arnes_to_feature_on__Football_Heroes__stamps/ Definitely not what we were expecting.
Hmmmm. As much as I admired Barnes as a player, there are quite a few more players that I would pick ahead of him who would go with the England players mentioned in the collection. Maybe its the cynic in me, but I can't help thinking it maybe something to do with his colour and not his footballing talent. Maybe it is just me. <cynical old Hector>
You are probably right that there were other great players but I suspect they do want a "balance" and maybe he is the best player of his colour. Also his goal against Brazil made him famous worldwide so that could have something to do with it
Sad that it was only that. I remember the dreadful treatment he got from the fans towards the end of his England career especially, and how in one game he silenced them with a great free kick.
Any mileage in this? Villa boss Paul Lambert is thought to be monitoring Watford striker Troy Deeney, 24, who is yet to agree a new contract at Vicarage Road. From the current bun.
Probably wondered where he might find players to strengthen his ailing side. I would have thought that Deeney might want to see what division he will be playing in next season and if he will be payed accordingly.
http://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/sport/10220640.Return_of_Mackay_s_Cardiff_rescheduled_due_to_TV/ At least it is not a Friday H.
It's not, but it's still infuriating if you travel some way to get to games... Means Mrs H and I have no time to go out clubbing on the Saturday night
it's not...but i'll be in Stockholm..Mr H booked a weekend away...during the football season..think he was having a bit of a moment, can't believe it's that weekend, i'm gutted! Still, i guess it means i may be able to find it streamed somewhere
Not sure if Deeney would be a first choice striker for a Premiership team (be it us or them) - great work-rate etc but maybe not enough quality?
A dirty week-end away and all you can think of is finding a stream for a football match? My sort of woman.
i can't believe it...gutted! We're going with friends, apparently it was good for all of them...but so what! It's the football season...gawd! That man really needs better training!
