You seem to be forgetting that this is a 76 page thread dedicated to calling Liverpool supporters deluded. Making a single post about the delusion of THFC fans, and one that is based on a genuine opinion rather than the tongue in cheek "next year" stereotype, is hardly unfair

 

That's not what this thread is used for, how dare you accuse us of such a thing!

Eitherway, what a single "Spurs fan" said on a phone-in has little relevence to Spurs fans as a whole or to this thread, regardless of whether you think it's for talking about deluded Liverpool fans or just general laughing at Liverpool

 

The only fan on 606 this week that irritated me - perhaps because he wasn't caught on his point, was a Spurs fan who said Spurs were producing the best English players - and he then named Liverpool, Chelsea, Arsenal, United as teams that need more British players.

This is a Liverpool side that fielded Carragher, Johnson, Gerrard, Henderson, Downing and Sturridge against City and regularly play Allen, Wisdom and Sterling. A Liverpool squad which holds the England captain of every level from U-16s.

Seriously... what an idiot.

 

Of that list, only Carragher and Gerrard were produced by Liverpool, and they both came through the ranks many, many years ago. The rest were either poached from other teams' youth systems (Sterling from QPR, Wisdom from Bradford), or were established players at the clubs Liverpool signed them from.

Do Spurs produce the best English players? Probably not, as Southampton and Everton have the best youth systems in the Premier League, but our youth system has started to produce players with a lot of potential in the last couple of seasons which certainly wasn't the case ten years ago.

 

Got to give it to you Spurs fans for the sheer entertainment you bring, not good enough to actually win silverware of any description but still believing your own hype about how good you are.

We are good though aren't we? Fluctuating between 3rd and 4th and scoring some good goals. Winning even though our strikers aren't firing and attracting internationals like Holtby. Winning and drawing against the best team in Britain. I see NO delusion here,only realism.

So in another season with another manager you spent a part of the season (but not the end) in 3rd. I don't think you get to claim to be a 3rd place team, unless Liverpool can also claim 1st for the seasons we finished 2nd

Mousers sounding bitter...just admit we have the better team and have had in recent years. Stop living in the past. And I wouldn't be worried about us losing Bale, but concern yourselves with losing Suarez. There's only so much non champions league football a goofy man can take.
