The Allams own the SMC don't they? Just like AP did the first time he was here and Bartlett did when he was here too. It's always been in the same ownsership as Hull City which inevitably means the stadium is run with a Hull City bias. Maybe if FC wanted to have some control over the stadium, they should invest in the company that runs it. That's simple business isn't it?
or indeed, if hull fc want their pictures up for free, or they are unhappy with the landlords, they should leave the circle and find a venue who will allow it. that's how easy it is.
Been catching up with what has been said on that RL link from before ( http://forums.rlfans.com/viewtopic.php?f=34&t=544015&tsmp=1360521115&start=130 ). From reading that, it seems 90% of councillors are Hull FC fans that are all "going to be asking questions about this on Monday". Should councillors elected by the taxpayer be spending so much time (i.e. tax payers money) on a small, petty situation, just because it is 'their sports club'? Surely taxpayers money shouldn't be spent on councillors sorting out their 'personal interests'?
how come the smc has always been in hull citys control out of interest, is it simply cos we have always put our hand in our pocket to do so and FC havent?
im currently in an argument with an hull fc mate, telling them to zip it cos we both have to pay...and there response is we arent paying cos its just the allams paying the allams...but they only manage it dont they the SMC? or is my friend correct? i get a bit confused by financial stuff so will wait before i respond to him..haha
That would be the preferred option of course! It must be. I don't think the club own it, it's just always been sold along with the club. He's right that they'd be paying themselves but it makes perfect sense since the Allams bought the SMC and FC didn't. It'd be like me complaining that Rupert Murdoch doesn't have to pay for Sky TV and I do*. I've criticised the Allams on here before but you certainly wno't see me criticise them for the way they've looked after the stadium. The council promised on live radio when the KC was opened to maintain it in a perfect condition and it just hasn't happened. AA looks after the place, not as well as he would if it was his own but he's had to spend far too much on someone else's property. *I actually don't have Sky, for what it's worth.
so does any profit made by the smc not go to the council then? if i sound a bit thick on this, its cos i am
I don't know. I assume it goes to the Allams as they own it. But I bet the SMC makes **** all anyway.
The Stadium Management Company was set up to effectively maintain the KC Stadium at no expense to the Council - whilst they forked out £43.5m of capital monies from the part sell off of Kingston Communications they were more than happy for some other body to look after - money they didn't have in their revenue budgets. Eff Cee have never shown any interest in being part of the SMC to my knowledge - the only guy that was remotely involved was that big Aussie CEO Shaun Richardson or whatever his name was , at the start of the construction of the KC. Of course the likes of Geraghty will be spitting feathers about his beloved EffCee if these stories are true...
Mr. Allam is unfortunately showing his true colours now, his personal vendetta against Pearson is making him look like a petty fool now. The negative press he'll get from this is not in keeping with the persona he'd have you all believe.
Interesting user name and first post. I guess it's just a coincidence you joined just after this thread was linked on the RL board.
Fan of both mate, never knew this forum existed to be honest. But some of the arrogance of our fans is sickening at times. I've never trusted Allam and the fact he's been crying since the council wouldn't give him the stadium makes me worried that if he doesn't get what he wants he'll lose interest.
I know, fancy expecting everyone else to pay but them. Bloody freeloaders. As for your comments about Mr Allam, I suspect you've been getting your views from the rugby board. Believe me, most of what i saw on there was well wide of the mark. It's embarrassing to think that some people swallow that as 'fact'
