Not drawn attention to Leeds at all. In fact, that's what you've been doing. If Hull fan had made this thread, would they have been 'dragging attention' to any particular side? I think not. I've mentioned you, what, twice on the Leeds board now? I think that's less than the average Hull user has spent talking about "TWS".

We've already discussed this plenty. Substitute my definition of rivals if yours doesn't satisfy the context.

Do they? I make comments from time to time, none of which can be described as nonsense and as far as I'm aware there's been one other so-called Leeds WUM who was in fact pretty much outed as a Hull fan.

Chill lass. Just take your failure on the chin and move on. As I say, you can tell people we're your rivals if it makes you happy, we don't mind. It makes a change for us as we're unrivaled in most things, hence your obvious obsessional envy.:D

It's Leeds for me, simply because the majority of my mates are Leeds fans and also because they're the only local club who seem to be challenging us at the moment.

Leeds because of all the white ****e supporting numpties I grew up with, though I noticed their fan base has gone down quite a lot round here lately, now that we are a much bigger team.

I've nothing against Leeds or the present team. In fact, I have a lot of respect for Simon Grayson and his achievements in the last couple of years. However, they are one of the teams I most like to see beaten. This is purely down to arogance of the early 1970s team and Don Revie in particular. Anybody remember their game against Southampton (I think) in the 1970s where they passed the ball around for ages just getting Saints to chase it withour making any attempt to score, just because they could. The BBC thought it was wonderful. Some of that team were just thugs. We used to sit in the South Stand and bloke on our left would rant on about our performances and players (Jimmy McGill especially but also Malcolm Lord, Roy Greenwood, Phil Holme et al) and say, "I'm going to Leeds next week." We told him to go but he never did. He kept turning up and abusing the players while still claiming to be a supporter. His season ticket gave him the right, I suppose. Our season tickets gave us the privilege of supporting the Tigers.

Rivals? Then it was the Sheffield clubs. The Lincolnshire ones were never in our league but York got there once. Now? I just don't go for that stuff any more. I want to beat everybody. It doesn't matter where they come from.

I'm pretty surprised Grimsby's the only option without a single vote, I thought they'd have been first to be honest.

I don't think any of us has ever taken Grimsby seriously, even though it's the nearest. Perhaps it's because they've never been very good or maybe it's because before the bridge they were the furthest away.

From the late 1940s through to the mid 1960s we played them (Grimsby) regularly, suffice to say it's likely to be a long time until we're in the same division again so it's faded.

Our rivalry with Leeds has been entirely in the second division & it's been re-kindled in the 2000s. In the 1960s and 1970s we couldn't touch them.

It's not the fact that you mentioned the War of the Roses, as many people DO mention that when talking aout Yorkshire and Lancashire.

It's the fact that you said "You heard of the Wars of the Roses? Red vs White - Lanca****e vs Yorkshire".

That does suggest you were misinformed about what the WotR were.

When I started going, it was Lincoln, Grimsby, S****horpe and York. Don't remember hearing much about a Leeds rivalry growing up, it didn't strike me until we got to the Championship.

IMO, think it's in this order traditionally...

    S****horpe
    Grimsby
    York
    Sheffield United
    Lincoln
    Sheffield Wednesday
    Leeds
    Boston (maybe)
    Scarborough
    Huddersfield
Doncaster (although think they were non league for the majority of my life so far)
    Barnsley
    ............

    North Ferriby United
    Winterton Rangers
    Hall Road Rangers
    Goole Town
    South Cave
    Hessle Rangers :bandit:
