Give them both new deals. Jason has been ace this year. His decision making still irks me at times but the guy has stepped it up big time.

I'm not sure what's going to happen with the goalkeeper situation. Hardly a season goes by without some sort of controversy surrounding Boruc.

I must admit to being wrong about Punch - after his poor League 1 showing, I didn`t think he`d cut it in the Prem. I stand corrected.

I doubt that many players have gone from complete outcast to first choice in that manner. Although a lot have gone in the other direction. Getting off that satanic microblogging site probably was a good place to start.

He's shown that he can cut it in the Premiership with Blackpool, so I was quietly optimistic that he could be a key part to our side in the PL and that he has.

Jason Puncheon scored Southampton’s first goal, had more shots than any other player on the pitch (three) and also created three chances for team-mates.

I have to apologize to J Rod, Second Stain kept telling me he was still young but I gave up on him after the Villa game, still does not score enough goals but his work rate is unbelievable. Must be the cranky old man in me with no patience. I too stand corrected. The Jury is still out on Gaston in my cranky old mind.

The work rate has been a massive impact over the last few games especially when you play a pressing high line. My only concern is having enough squad players good enough to come on as a sub, in particular to keep the same level and same standard of the player they are replacing.
Playing this formula of football will bring pulls strains and tiredness the longer it goes on.
We had Shaw and Ram missing yesterday and now prob Fox and the subs bench becomes a little weaker each injury.
We have been the best Football side to watch in the Premier League over the last few weeks and long may that continue.

We managed yesterday's win with several players out, but you are right that we will see more injuries and probably will need to rest or substitute players (which requires a squad in depth). Davis said that our present style of play is very tiring. Bearing this in mind, I am pleased to see how well Rickie is coping with it. He worked so hard yesterday and did a happy wave at the camera at the end.

Puncheon doesn't seem to like being a bench player, and I think the odds are against him that he will start next year.

Been fantastic this season though, so I'd wish him well and hope he goes somewhere he can get full-time play as he has shown he deserves it.

Why are the odds against him next year? he has been one of, if not the best player this season.

I think if we stay up then we will have quite a big overhaul of the squad in the summer, with a fair few new arrivals. Good chance that half of the current first team won't be our first choices at the start of next season imo.

I think the exact opposite, maybe a few will come in to replace some inevitable departures, but i cant see our team being much different if we do stay up.
