Ultimately, given the way that last hour went for Watford I think it was a point gained rather than two lost. Yes so we threw it away with a performance of such ineptitude that any other recent season would have seen us crushed 4-2 if not more. It felt as if everything was ganging up against us... the Palace players greater zeal and effort; our alarming lack of touch and our ability to just give the ball away as if it were going to cause some allergic reaction to us if we kept hold of it; yet again the officials demonstrably unable to interpret the law properly - we got some, we didn't get others... a lot of others, though no blame can be apportioned to our own ineptitude and self pity on them... chin up Yellows and get on with it - and finally the Palace fans, who were absolutely magnificent (God I just hate to say it, but they were) apart from the maggots setting off the fireworks, birch 'em I say! As for Holloway's ill-informed rant on TFLS thereafter, without any reply or challenge.... GRRRRRRRRR. http://inthewolfsmouth.com/2013/02/09/a-response-to-ian-holloway/ For those who have not read this, a measured response indeed!
If we're going to talk about loopholes, how about receiving £10m up front for a player, keeping him for the remainder of your promotion campaign, and using the cash to bring in half a dozen pay loans (loan deals where the loaning club expects to be paid a large amount of money to lend the player for half a season)?
