I was wondering whether there'd be an announcement that Simonsig's head had fallen off and whilst it had been sewn back on successfully he wouldn't be running ever again. Actually no, no trainer would ever publicly state that his horse was out for the whole season only to run him anyway.......
from earlier Did the following in an E/W Lucky 15 Boston Bob @ 7/1 RSA Chase Captain Conan @ 8/1 Arkle Chase Zarkandar @ 7/1 Champion Hurdle Silviniaco Conti @ 13/2 Cheltenham Gold Cup also did another one with Zarkandar and Silviniaco Conti (Same prices as above with Bostons Angel in the Cross Country Race at 12's and Rocky Creek 12's in the RSA
Have taken some 85s on Lord Windermere for the RSA. There is no guarantee he will end up in that race but to me he looks like he is strong at the end of his races. He ran on well Saturday for 2nd and he was hampered turning in, finishing best of all. He also jumped very well again so I have speculated a few loose shillings on the good ground and longer trip unearthing his very best. I may top up at more big prices if I back any winners between now and Cheltenham, but no real hurry.
Taken the 25s Ned Buntline for the Supreme, to go with Pique Sous 25/1. I fancy him tomorrow so if he wins im sure that price will get slashed, Meade says hes the best horse theyve had for a while and Go Native wasnt bad. I know this horse is a chaser in the making and if he gets beat tomorrow he probably wont go to Cheltenham but ive taken the chance just in case.
Well that was interesting yesterday. Can I get others opinions on Boston Bob please? Do you think it will now go for the 4 miler? As stated above, I've backed this at bigger prices for the RSA, for a tidy sum if it wins. It clearly needs 3 miles plus, just wondering what Mullins will do. If you were me would you be happy with yesterday's performance? Don't know what to make of it really.
imo It will definitely go for the rsa. he was doing all his best work at the end of the race and as the rsa is highly likely to be run at a faster pace it should suit it down to the ground. I don't know if the horse is good enough to win it though. Is a tough race this year in that the only horse that stands out(Dynaste) has every stat going against it. Including the dreaded feltham winner one. If i was on yours at a good price i would probably just let it run rather than trying to lay it off or something.
Thanks Hawkeye. Definately not going to lay it off, can't really at the minute anyway as I've only got it at 12s, 10s and 8s. Prob waiting in it for about £1500 in all. Just hoping he goes for the RSA and not the 4 miler. I think it's tailor made for 3 miles up the hill but dynaste does worry me. I don't think there is anything else in the race to be scared of really. Ruby on board as well. Fingers crossed!
Remember yesterday was only over 2m 5f- another 3f more at Cheltenham and he'd have flew past them. To put yesterday into perspective, Lord Windermere, who I've backed at 85/1 for the RSA, is now a 20/1 chance and expected to improve and carry the hopes of Jim Culloty as he looks to land his first Cheltenham winner as trainer. Boston Bob beat him yesterday over a trip that wasn't ideal, and therefore he must surely be made for a 3 mile RSA up that Cheltenham hill. I think Boston Bob is overpriced against Dynaste to be honest. Don't get me wrong- Dynaste is a solid animal and looks more robust than Grands Crus did, but I still think he is a massive lay as he has so much natural speed. I'm really happy with Lord Windermere this year though- I honestly think he will be a massive improver on quicker ground at Cheltenham and it might be the thing that is the leveller against Boston Bob, who could end up outpaced to the point where he cant get back up, as was the case in last years Albert Bartlett.
Ok, I solved it. A tad creepy. When you view this page as a guest all the times are 1 hour ahead than when you view this page logged in. In the dining room. With a candle stick.
Thanks for your input Toppy, I agree totally that 3miles up the hill will suit BB, as you say though he got done for speed last yr though so that's a bit of a worry. Can't wait for this race, I hope yours runs a cracker as well as mine and we will see what happens.
Take it from me chaps. They didn't back Bob in the AB last year to piss about with 4 mile Mickey Mouse races this year. He runs in the RSA and he'll win the RSA. Dynaste is an early season dodge pot. He will definitely not win the RSA. And you can take that to the bank.
