In the sixties (when I was at University) women were barred from many jobs. A friend couldn't do marine biology because she was told she couldn't go on a boat! I wanted to do forensic science, but was dissuaded as I wouldn't be promoted above lab assistant. To study medicine, women needed straight As whereas men were accepted with Cs. Could go on and on!

I still wish I had done forensic science...perhaps I should have pushed at that barrier.

And women are still facing the same issues today when it comes to women's football as you have dinosaurs like Duckhunter and Dyslexic Saint and others who dismiss it outright and often in a very disrespectful way and while also fighting for increased coverage and interest and changing perceptions. I honestly dunno how it started but I feel quite strongly on the issue. As I said to my friend the other day, I think at the end of the day Portsmouth women or Southampton women or England women represent the city of Portsmouth/Southampton or the nation of England and so I think they deserve support just as much as the men do. And I think it's unfair that they get such little recognition for what they do, Portsmouth romped to the league title last season but despite that they got little coverage in the press and not that many people were there the day they secured the league title which I think is a massive shame. So I'd like to to do my bit to help raise a bit of awareness and interest. Hence why I created the Facebook page for Portsmouth ladies.

The wording of that article epitomises everything I hate about tabloids.

But that's beside the point. A terrible shame that such a talented player is seemingly on his death bed, but then when he's been drinking everyday of his life, what do you expect...

There were boos when De Ridder was subbed today. I think it was the managers decision to take him off that prompted the boos.

Correct. Reading on their forums they said he was very lively and threatening. Said sometimes he could be a bit sharper in the final third but was great so far.

I am pleased for him, he needs regular football and he isn't going to get it here.

In what sense? Might have to get back onto it, if I had a job I'd buy another WoW subscription but as it stands, I can't really afford anything that extravagant.

If I had a job I'd buy the new Sim City. That looks sick.

I used to play Runescape. I think I was level 60 something but stopped playing it when my account got "hacked", I never bothered checking to see if my password was still the same.

Is that out now? I thought it was still Beta testing.

So my list of things to buy if I get a job now currently stands at:

    Making Mirrors by Gotye
My Head is an Animal by Of Monsters and Men
Sim City 5 (or whatever the new one's called)
    A subscription card for WoW

Damnit, someone give me a job already, I want to play WoW!!
