Yes, any sensible person thinking about it would say that history is irrelevant. We could in principle have thrashed them 6:0. But if you start to ask why that run of results is as it is, maybe the answer has something to do with Fulham being a settled top flight side, usually guided by very competent managers, and able, with Fayad's backing, to sign good quality players.

Before kick-off I expected to lose this game. The game played out as it did because neither team wanted to lose it. Both would have liked to have won it, but both in the end will settle for the draw. <ok>

Not exactly the point I was making; if we lose next game we haven't won in ten, and if we win we are unbeaten in four. Statistics can be made to say anything.

They can't say we're playing attractive football.

I agree we are currently not playing attractive football. But, I would say CH approach is much more measured and controlled than Lamberts ever was. We do pass the ball around more at the back, I know many seem to find this frustrating as we can be very slow at getting the ball forward. However it does in theory give you the best base to play good attacking, passing football. What I am getting at (optimistic view) is that by building from the back and approaching the game in this way we have given ourself a good basis to play more attractive football next season when added quality is bought in. While it is poor at the moment hopefully it is short term pain for long term gain.

Well for all those who think it's another point gained, I fancy Villa to beat Wet Sham today so it will be two home points lost and the gap between us and the bottom three will be just 6 points ! Worrying times as we don't even look like scoring let alone winning. Everton and Manure up next <doh>

Why would you think Villa would beat West Ham?

West Ham have only won twice away from home this season.
Plus, QPR, Wigan, Reading and Newcastle all lost yesterday so sods law that Villa will join Saints in reducing our 'comfort zone' points wise.

If we plan to survive purely by hoping those below us fail every game, we'll get exactly what we deserve. Our fate needs to be in our own hands, Mr Hughton!

Seems to be a very strong consensus Villa will win today, not sure where it's come from.

Possibly because West Ham have been so erratic in recent weeks and with Benteke and Wiesman on the pitch, Villa do posses a decent attack.

I've got a feeling it won't be as easy as that. Villa are frail as hell.

I hope you are right, an 8 point gap is far better for us <ok>

he definitely needs an eye test. in the whole match they had just one shot on target and three off target. how does this equate to deserving victory? also, i hope Benno is never played on the left side again. he looks totally lost and a shadow of his real self out there. but overall the team seem to lack conviction.

Lol, the gap will be 'only 6 points' if you ask me that is a decent enough gap with 12 games left.
