Sagna was a ****ing beast at CB today, made several last ditch tackles and probably won us the 3pts on several occasions <ok>

To win with this makeshift defence was great. this was our defence once jenks got sent off.

    Ramsey - Sagna - Mertesacker - Monreal

Not your typical back 4 (or 5 when Ignasi came on)

Good defending and 1-0 to the Arsenal.

George Graham will be back next.

It was very important to win today, as our next 2 games are in entirely different competitions, so we can go into those games with a clear mind purely concentrating on that, we did our job in the league for now, not to the others.

Yessssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss love it when we get the better of a bunch of thugs, should have scored more than one goal though not clinical enough in front of goal, the only way the thugs were going to score was from a ball coming down with snow on it,great backs to the wall job second half should do wonders for the spirit as Wengers says.

Sessegnon always seems to play well against us, wonder if he's a closet Arsenal fan?

Is it possible to sue Arsenal for stressing out my heart so much?

The officials in that match did their best to try and **** us over. Not complaining about the Jenks Red, he deserved it, but Cattermole should have had another yellow in the first half, but the ref bottled it. The sunderland MF were kicking Cazorla, Arteta, Wilshere all game long and were also lucky not to get a man sent off. Then the handball near the end that the lino missed was ****ing criminal, thankfully Chez made a brilliant save, but the striker basically punched the ball to control it, very poor officiating.

I agree that the red card was probabky right but there were so many similar tackles from them that went unpunished it was ridiculous. One of the best was Giroud on Cattermole just before half time though and he got away with it as well and Cattermole didnt come back out.

Also another close range header that was offside that Chez saved aswell. I thought Jenks 1st Yellow was a bit harsh, but the 2nd one was inexcusable (despite that he was playing well till then).

Cattermole should have been off even before that. And that stamp on Ramsey's ankle was disgusting.

So nice to see the Arsenal defense attack the ball and play with resolute steadfastness. There seemed to be better communication/organization and a higher level of effort: all strange for a back four playing in new positions. Did this happen because it was just a "good day" or is it something to do with personalties?

So true piskie, it seems they have it in their heads we deserve a tough physical game whenever we go up 'nurth'. If you can influence a loss for Arsenal when they face thugs then you win the popularity contest for the weekend.

3pts at the end of the day and as someone mentioned we did our job today. The defence were simply outstanding.

The only stamp on Ramsey I saw was by Larsson who replaced Cattermole in the 2nd half

Yeah that's what I meant. I was trying to say the stamp was disgusting and the ref didn't catch it.

You're talking out of your arse if you think you were playing fairly. There's playing a physical game, and then there's overstepping the mark, which a lot of your players did today.
