the england midfield seemed to work. cleverley was definitely the weak link. wonder if hodgson can get lampard and gerrard to play alongside each other consistently?

I thought Cleverley did ok. Who else is there though if he wants to play that 3 man midfield?

    Henderson?

honestly think parker is really the best bet there. due to him being more defensive, it would allow jack to flourish in a more attacking role. at least until cleverley improves, if ever.

I'd play Milner in the middle. His work-rate would see us boss most midfields. Would push Wilshere into AM position too. Then we've got Rooney, Walcott and someone else up front like Wellbeck or Sturridge.

Please no not this combination again. The reason Gerrand and Lampard seemed so complacent in their roles is because they had no competition for their respective positions. With jack and cleverly in the mix they both have to up their game if they still want to represent their country. In fairness to Frank he looked good coming off the bench yesterday and that is where I would start him in most games. Cleverly and jack are the future and IMO going back to the old combo of Lampard and Gerrard would be 2 steps back.

Cleverley is not a spectacular player but he keeps things moving. He is neat and tidy and has good energy. Him and Jack can build a great partnership for England.

Bale is in deadly form at the moment. Good for Wales and the spuds, not such good news for us.

If Holtby had brought his shooting boots this game would be over already.

Seriously, why did we not sign Moussa Sissoko? Just set up Gouffran for Chateau Nouveau's equaliser.

Cazorla and Wilshere are ahead of him in that position.

I think it's because he's more of a box to box midfielder and Wenger wanted a purely defensive player. Still think at his price it's criminal we weren't even interested.
