Harry: ‘Big club’ have made Samba enquiry

Harry Redknapp has suggested that he has already received at least one enquiry about recent signing Chris Samba.

The QPR manager has hit back at reports the relegation-threatened club have taken a major financial risk by spending £12m on the defender.

Redknapp insists Rangers could easily sell Samba for that amount or more if they lose their top-flight status.

And he added: “I had a chairman ring me a week ago asking me about him.

“He said ‘What would you do if you went down?’ and I told him we’re not going to go down. He said ‘What a signing – if [only] we’d known he was available.’

“I’m talking about a big club. There will be big clubs wanting him, not a danger.”
