    WOLVES V LEEDS UTD

Wolves will be without centre back Richard Johnson who serves his second of a three match ban for being a bad boy (being sent off against Leicester), but fellow defender Stephen Ward is set to keep his place after suffering no ill effects from a neck strain he picked up at the King Power Stadium.

Trio Kevin Doyle, Slawomir Peszko and Dave Edwards are all in contention for recalls as Wolves try to drag themselves away from the drop zone.

Long-term absentees Razak Boukari and Stephen Hunt are unlikely to be deemed ready to return just yet, while Wayne Hennessey and George Elokobi continue their long rehabilitation.
Transfer deadline-day signings Steve Morison and Stephen Warnock could both make their debuts for Leeds whilst Habibou looks set to retain a place on the subs bench. The African 25 year old played an hour for the Leeds reserves during midweek against Wigan (I think)Striker Ross McCormack is doubtful, however, after withdrawing from Gordon Strachan's Scotland squad in midweek through illness.

Warnock is set to have talks over the weekend with Dave Moyes about extending the loan of Ross Berkley til the end of the season.

    MATCH FACTS

    Head-to-head
    • Leeds kicked off this season with a 1-0 win over Wolves, courtesy of a diving header from Luciano Becchio. It ended a series of three 1-0 league victories by Wolves over the Whites.

    • Leeds are now targeting a first league double in 29 years over the black-country club.

    • The first goal scored in this match will be the 200th on display in league clashes between the clubs.

    Wolverhampton Wanderers

    • Wolves lie in their lowest position of the season, immediately above the relegation zone with a two-point cushion, winless in seven and without a point in two.

    • They're making a fifth attempt to gain a first victory under Dean Saunders, but remain at the foot of the Championship's "form" table, with two points out of 18.

    • Christophe Berra is on the verge of his 300th club career appearance.

    Leeds United

    • If Leeds are to retain their top-half status, they'll need to end a four-match losing league run away from home and pick a first point on the road since their 4-2 victory at Huddersfield on 1 December.

    • Neil Warnock's side are on the longest current run without a draw in the Championship of 15 games.

    • All three of Leeds' away wins have been against clubs in the bottom eight.

We are playing well at the moment. As Warnock said, if we had the team we have now, and could go back to the beginning of the season, we'd be near the top.

Bull. ****. Unless we've got someone who's gunna bang them in for fun in ****e situations then it's bollocks. Becchio kept us afloat all season.

If we'd had proper wingers sooner then we could play proper football AND have Becchio in the side. But for some reason Warnock sees wide players as low priority and getting a replacement for our only player scoring goals was more important.

I read him saying that. Do you not find that statement idiotic Elland. This team, he's on about, has played one match and lost. If we go on a run, I'd respect that statement from Warnock maybe

He had to get a replacement because Becchio wanted out, now, whether he was pushed or not is another thread, but i think Morison will add not only goals, but something more than Luciano did for the team, i really hope so anyway, if i'm wrong i'll join you moaning about the team, btw, i'm a big Becchio fan and was sad to see him go, and i agree with you regarding wingers, i'm just gonna give the new lads a chance<ok>

Well said mate. We all loved Beccs, but his head was turned by agents, money, what ever. We move on. What annoys me is this in fighting on sites like these.
