we wouldn't sell him to a premier rival, and Real would get first refusal, because of our link up with them.I think you will find him still at WHL next season!

Levy lost millions trying to hold out for more for Modric when he wanted to go to Chelsea - not the flower show - so he might not want to get burned again. I think it's pretty clear that Bale will be off sooner or later and Spurs are making a loss at the moment, so as principled as you might want to be about it all, it may well just come down to raw figures.

****ing hell not that again <laugh>

As for Bale, no thanks. Most overrated British player in a long time and Spuds aren't going to let him go on the cheap either! Falcao would actually be cheaper and twice as good.

Couldn't afford him. We won't sell to a Premier League side(especially Chelsea). He wants to play in Spain and alongside Ronaldo, if possible, when he does move. You might not even finish in the Champions League spots, let alone above us so I'm not so sure he'd have any incentive to join you at the end of the season.

Anyway you've got Mata, Hazard and Oscar, I don't see how you keep all of them happy plus Bale.

This isn't going to happen! He has stood out for Spuds over the last couple of seasons, but apart from all the FFP reasons, he cant really add anything to what we already have!

Now why would we want to buy a player who out of frustration climbs into an angry QPR crowd to get the ball back just to save time in a game. We already have our own ways of doing this. <whistle>

Seriously I can't stand the man and couldn't see him as part of Chelsea team.

I don't get why he is disliked so much. He's a quiet lad who just gets on with his football.

Just one of those faces and the fact he dives. Was the same with Drogba for other fans.

I don't dislike him by any means (except when he dives), just don't think he's as good as yourselves and pundits like to believe :)

You keep going on about this Peskie and it is getting tedious. Unlike Arsenal, our chairman understands the stupidity of selling our best players to direct rivals <doh> He lost perhaps £5million on Modric, worth it to give us a chance of finishing above Chelsea, again, and in future seasons.

I've said this before on the Spurs board, but what makes Bale so dangerous is that combination of pace & power. Yes, you can maybe keep him quiet for a lot of a 90 min game, but take your eye off him for one second....well, you've seen what he can do for yourselves...

Campbell wasn't sold - he refused to sign a contract and left on a free...costing us approx £18-20m and that was 12 yrs ago (july 2001)

Carrick made it clear he wanted to go united and refused a new contract and had just 2 yrs remaining so had to be sold that was 7 yrs ago (june 2006)

Berbatov pretty much went on strike and so had to be sold - that was 5 years ago (Aug 2008)

You forgot about Robbie Keane who demanded to join his boyhood club (one of many as it turned out) - also 5 years ago

Modric pretty much refused to play for us again so had to be sold.

Thats 4 players who we forced in 12 years to sell so we didn't lose millions...we made a profit of £16m on carrick, £20m plus on berbatov...£16m on Keane and £17m on Modric (That's approx £70m PROFIT on just 4 players)...

If and when Bale goes we will make a massive profit on him and will move on.
we have gone from a mid table team in 2001 to challenging for the top 4...I think we will simply replace him and develop as a team.

When you don't have the money chelsea have you have buy players and sell them for a profit...chelsea buy and sell for a loss...sometimes a very big loss...it's just a fact of life.

Wouldn't really be alot of point in Bale going to Chelsea, as it would just be a step sideways rather than up
