Not sure how reliable this is, but it gives: HRT: €40m budget and 120 staff Virgin: €64.4m budget 220 staff Lotus: €70m budget and 240 staff Williams, Toro Rosso and Force india spend around €80m and Red Bull €330m However, I don't know how old this is. Apparently having Karthikeyan as a pay driver brings HRT €8m. And for comparison, Red Bull spend €330m Interesting how well HRT are doing for nearly 2/3 of the nearest teams budgets, well done them.
I think HRT may get a point later in the season, they look like a good **** car maybe get Lotus next year!!! HRT FTW
I'm not sure of the figures but what you quote looks pretty reasonable. If they can keep qualifying, they will gain more admiration directly leading to more interest, leading to more sponsorship and a bigger budget. It is vital that they keep qualifying. It may turn some of the negative opinion which some have been quick to show. Good luck Hispania.
Some bad news for Virgin: http://www.yallaf1.com/2011/05/16/g...d&utm_campaign=Feed: Yallaf1com (YallaF1.com) Look's like HRT might finally beat them. I feel a bit sorry for Glock - once remembered as a decent midfield driver, now as a backmarker at a failing team who are desperate for pay drivers.
Hmm, I feel sorry for Glock, at one point he was rumoured to be getting the second Renault seat alongside Kubica, then Renault weren't sure of their commitment to F1, so he signed with Virgin (then Manor) to guarantee an F1 seat for 2010, I bet he regrets not holding out on that one a bit longer!
Yes. In my opinion Glock is a good solid driver, is considered to give good feedback and justifies a place for himself on the grid. I am sure this will continue to be appreciated but when acting on such feedback relies almost entirely upon one's team's budget, he must be crossing his fingers for something miraculous. Renault would indeed have been a good move but one must make choices based on information available at the time; and of all the 'works' teams, it is Renault which has consistently lagged behind the others in terms of a long-term commitment to F1.
Ha! Yes, there appears to have been quite a turn-around. Perhaps Hispania will do the biz now. One thing's for sure: their car looks a lot better than Virgin's!
Go HRT, I've always thought the grief they got was a bit unfair, especially when they were compared unfavourably to Minardi, who were far worse for a longer time. Virgin really need to get their act together, although I can't see it, Branson always tries to do things on the cheap and rely on the name to sell, unfortunatley that's not something you can do in F1, and relying on CFD is turning out to look like a big mistake.
Don't worry. Pat Symonds is in charge now. They have a whole raft of other methods to get ahead that they hadn't previously considered.
This season is a write off. I still hold on to the team becoming Marrusia sponsored by virgin rather than the other way round in 2012
Seeing as this thread is about the teams at the back, Team Lotus have announced a couple of things: They've agreed a deal with Williams to use their wind tunnel, which should help them progress, and announced GE as a "premium partner", which I think means a main sponsor on the car.
I don't mean to be facetious but when I think of HRT I think of treatment for menopausal ladies, hope it's just me?! To answer the question, Virgin will finish above 'HRT'
