The overall wages paid out by the Blues in the Champions League-winning year ending June 2012 actually fell by £18million to £171million - compared to Manchester City who saw their wages break through the £200million barrier.

    My bad <laugh>

    It dropped 18m last year

Our new deals with Audi and Gazprom kick in this year; we will get close to breaking even despite our early CL exit. Winning CL is worth up to 100m over three seasons in extra revenue too

and extra 33m per year will not make up for the players/wages you need to compete for the title.

but in what way are you the normal fan? you're self admittedly not from Manchester and don't go to games therefore it doesn't hurt you financially. Maybe if you supported your local team I'd see where you're coming from.

Its irreverent where a fan comes from, its more like you are jealous that UTD can command huge support, and the Chelsea/££££ struggle to fill there stadium.
It has hurt me, as I cant afford to go to game now, so the normal fan is priced out the game and all thats left is the boring rich prawn munching fan.

but the best thing is both Chelsea/££££ will fall back to there true mid table level, as they cant command the income of UTD.

    Happy days

what is wrong with football is when people don't like FFP
it will make competition a more fair one, and will stop clubs collapsing and the market inflated

Thing is, we don't struggle to sell out, not quite sure where that's come from.

It has a lot to do with where you're from, you chose to support United and not your local team therefore you cannot moan about their ticket prices. I'm sure you'd said before you'd only been twice anyway.

Also, why would I be jealous of United's huge support? it doesn't affect my life or my team in any way shape or form. Just means you have more hunters with a red shirt around the world. We both sell out our away games and a club's hardcore fans are the ones who travel away every week.

A lot of you like to flatter yourselves with the opinion everyone is either obsessed or jealous, like I've said countless times in the past - I have no problem with United or it's REAL fans.

Hence trying hard rather than doing a god job of proving him wrong.
