Well both Lewis and Nico are looking happier with the car now, hopefully the engineers got tons of data to take home with them and that they can find a few solutions to help got those 2 further up the front. DRD looked to be well used, reckon Mercedes are getting closer to a fully working version now after the lengths they used it today. Lewis also mentioned a new package coming soon and felt the core package was solid enough to evolve with Just need more downforce, cooling, and reliability and they're set for the season I reckon. Tyre wear looks decent, everybody looked a bit short anyway since Jerez is a tyre eater.
So the Sauber, which everyone was worried about cooling with their narrow sidepods, was one of the most consistent and reliable cars all test... interesting.
Total laps from the BBC: 1 Sauber 430 2 Red Bull 372 3 Force India 357 4 Williams 332 -2012 car 5 Toro Rosso 330 6 Mercedes 319 7 Caterham 318 8 McLaren 298 9 Ferrari 277 10 Lotus 271 11 Marussia 219
Wow that sidepods tight on the Sauber. From what I've read, it's been relatively cool in Jerez, so cooling was probably not a great issue. In hotter locales they may still have issues with cooling. As for Ferrari, if they have cooling issues now (especially in cockpit), that could be a serious problem (especially for drivers) at the same races.
So if 148 laps was the distance from London to Paris, whats 145 laps? London to the outskirts of Paris?
That's what I thought, could cost them in Australia, Malaysia and Bahrain before they're able sort it out.
Good job 'slimjim' Alonso has been putting in the training as he knew this was an issue with the design concept as he is the most complete driver on the grid.
