MARTIN SAMUEL - THE DEBATE: Fans have been brainwashed into thinking QPR are wrong to gamble - but the game's about chasing glory, not a beautiful balance sheet A shorter than usual debate this week but still a lively one. Apparently, QPR just donât get your juices flowing like, say, Luis Suarez or putting the boot in on the ball-boy. But here we go. Enjoy... How refreshing. At last a journo who has risen above the superficial knee jerk comments that often frequent the tabloids. The way he dismantled the arguments of those outside looking in was impressive indeed. However, like religious zealots. I don't expect them to change their viewpoint how ever much the real facts disprove their own beliefs. Well done Mr Samuels.
My other half gets the Mail every day (not the right wing British one) and I read Samuel whenever he's in it - roughly two or three times a week. I've always found his articles to be very insightful and informative. I don't always agree with him but he does back up all his arguments with some logic so I have respect for him.
Uber, I've absolutely no doubt you read Samuel too because I'm quite certain you're a Daily Mail man. Would I be right?

there's some dimwits who, even having read the article, are still spouting bollocks in the comments section below. I've never read more drivel written about a club as i've read about us since we started slinging a few quid about. I almost can't wait to fade back into obscurity so I don't have to listen to any more cobblers from this multitude of ill-informed twats. rant over
Was it the link to a Martin Samuel (of the Daily Mail) article that gave it away that I might occasionally read said journal, Sherlock? (...or was it the constant, tedious references to namby-pamby, liberal social elites?)
He actually wrote a Concerto for Football to honour Stan Bowles and the QPR team of the mid-seventies, which was turned into an excellent film by Channel 4. does anyone want a copy
Ha Ha Uber, I didn't even realise you were the OP!! I only just realised now that you said it! I tend not to notice who starts a thread, I just wade into it. Nevertheless, it was indeed due more to your constant, tedious references to namby-pamby, liberal social elites! You and Imaz are polar opposites when it comes to politics on this Site. Its a wonder you two boys haven't locked horns that much?
