Reading are planning to increase their ground capacity . The current plans allow the club to expand the Madejski Stadium by more than 50%, from 24,500 to 38,000. This is dependent on them staying in the Prem. Even if we had an East Stand we could not get that number in.
I was covering a class for another teacher yesterday & had cause to rummage through a cupboard, where I found a tarantula in a display box. Intrigued, I opened the box to inspect it more closely - only to discover that the damned thing was alive. Nearly pooped myself.
In the old days of GCSE when an oral component was included in English a girl took a python into school as a prop to support the short talk she was giving. It was apparently called Monty
Ugh - couldn't cope with that - I hate snakes with a passion. I was bitten by an Eastern Brown years ago and whilst it's a great story to tell kids at school, it was a rather harrowing experience. My wife and I had to regularly 'defend our family & property' from the damn creatures using whatever was to hand - axes, hoes, rakes etc, at one point it was so bad that I had hoes & axes placed at various strategic points around the outside of our house. We lost a lot of pet birds to them - it's scary to find snakes with suspiciously full stomachs curled up in the bird cages hanging up on your back verandah.
Not nice at all, BB. Years ago I visited Komodo island and walked around in shorts. A year later Douglas Adams (of Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy fame) wrote an account of a visit there in which he said the island had the highest number of venomous snakes per square metre of anywhere in the world...though who counted them I'm not sure. One of those things it's better to learn AFTER your viit perhaps.
Mariappa scores for Reading Barrow have followed up their heroic 1-0 win last weekend by rolling over 8-1 to L*t*n's main contenders for the final playoff place.
Just heard that on 5 Live OFH. Sounds VERY dodgy - Middle East consortium buy the club from Uncle Ken and then receive an offer less than 2 months later from a "Yorkshire based" consortium I wonder if Baz has legged it up the M1?
Only just seen this...don't know whether anyone remarked on it before. When Hartlepool beat Notts County a couple of weeks ago their scorers were Hartley and Poole. What are the odds on that happening? Hornets need to sign a Watt and a Ford
Brighton v Blackburn Hull v Derby Middlesbrough v Leeds Brighton to draw and two away wins would suit us, bet it's the opposite though.
