Both Wilshire and Bale were hyped up before their respective games so it was always going to be them (as long as they had at least an average game for them) to be named MOTM.

Giroud is claiming to be better than RVP. I guess he is getting ready to knock on the chairman's door for a pay rise.

The game was set up well for Walcott, Adriano's crap at defending which gave him plenty of opportunity to make runs and get on the ball. That's the simple bit. His decision making and execution once he'd got into a good position were toilet, frankly. He might have got Wembley off their seats on occasions as he threatened to do something useful but without the end product it couldn't be a good performance, let alone "great".

Wilshere was very good though, he Johnson and Rooney were the stand out players.

  3. "Hate" AFC? Don't flatter yourselves! I doubt there is anything in life that I would say I "hate" and certainly not a rival football team.

I said Hampshire had a solid game, just that he wasn't MOTM. I'd actually have Hampshire in our squad, as I do actually rate him.

As for Walnut, though, I'm sorry, but he was almost useless. Only on one occasion did any of his moves actually lead to anything. He missed a sitter of a goal-scoring opportunity, he overran the ball on at least two occasions, he made several bad passes, and he allowed defenders to rob him of the ball far too often. Even if I am being a bit harsh on him, for Townsend to say that he had a "great" game is nothing more than incompetent punditry.

But in his defence Giroud was only claiming he was better at understanding english than RVP....he said that he understood that N and O spelt "no" and he knew what that meant!

If you aren't writing this on purpose to WUM then I pity you as it means you really don't know anything about football where everything Spurs is automatically better than any other team at everything, regardless to what the actual facts or reality are.

Its like you can't comprehend a world where Spurs are just an averagely big team with no major accomplishments compared to many of their rivals so you've created an rose tinted reality where Bale is the best player in the league (a league that features RVP and Suarez btw) and Spurs are a superior to nearly everyone and everything and bigger club than like Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, Everton etc.

If you are wumming then I've fell for it but I don't mind because for the sake of your sanity I actually hope you've wummed all this Gooners stuff.

  9. The problem for you Gooners is that you simply cannot accept that Spurs is now the better side, with the better manager, and the greater depth in squad. It's not wumming, it's fact. Sorry you cannot accept it, but that really is not my fault. Yes, you have some very good players, I certainly would not attempt to deny that, but you are not as good as you once were, or even as good as most of those on your board believe. Because I refuse to look through your rose-tinted specs does not make me a wum.

Every dog has its day, but Whinger stopped barking about 8 years ago, I'm afraid. There are a couple of sensible Gooners who acknowledge this fact on your board, but they are quickly shouted down by Clown PESKIE and his rag-tag band of numpty idiots.

If you do manage to finish above us, this season, it will be yet another close-run affair. You will celebrate it like you've won something big, but the fact will remain that AFC is slowly but surely going the way of 'Pool.

And you had better pray that you do manage to make top 4, because god help you if you spend even one season outside the CL! If that happens, just watch how everything at your club implodes - manager "asked to leave by mutual consent," star players handing in transfer requests, lurid revelations about dressing-room discontent - I can see it all, now; and I'm sure quite a few of the sensible Gooners can, too.

There's ads in both the Metro and Evening Standard today for the Arsenal/Blackburn FA Cup match. You know, just like Wet Spam and QPR regularly do when there's a lot of seats available...

  13. Probably the best thing that one can say about this performance by Arsenal, tonight is that it wasn't quite as embarrassing as their infamous defeat to Barcelona last season, when Barca had something like 70% possession, and the Gunners managed zero shots on goal, and their top striker (Bentner), tripped over his own boot-laces before an audience of millions. But since that was arguably the worst performance ever to disgrace the European stage, it is absolutely no compliment to claim that AFC's performance tonight was only marginally better. Tonight, they played like a team that is no longer fit to sit at the "top 4" table. Walnut was his usual useless self, Sagna was involved in yet another comedy own-goal, and Podolski attempted to recreate Ricky Villa's goal in the 1981 FA Cup Final, but ended up looking like a complete bell-end. It was a night when I didn't know whether to laugh or cry, to feel smug or to hang my head in shame, to...

Who am I kidding? I laughed my cock off! Nurse! The bandages, please!

But all joking aside, to all those stupid TV pundits who truly believed that this might have been AFC's year to lift the CL title, I say take a good, long hard look at what the whole world saw tonight, and realise that AFC never stood a chance, because they simply are not good enough. Never were and never will be.

And that is me speaking as a neutral.

I like my women how I like watching Arsenal playing football.

Repeatedly beaten in their own back yard.

  18. He's been fighting a losing battle for several seasons on that particular score, Smithy.

I still suspect that PESKIE is Whinger's bastard love child, and he's doing what he can for the old man.

  20. Notso, the great thing about AFC playing Thursday night footy, apart from Whinger finally getting the sack and half of their squad of mercenaries leaving, will be watching them fail to win that competition, too. It'll be great us getting further in the CL then they do in the Ropey Cup <ok>
