I still can't quite understand why people dislike AP, He came to us when we were on the brink of financial meltdown and Not only 'saved' the club, But got us from the 3rd division to the Championship. And left us in a stable financial position.
Granted Mr Duffen and his group came in and got us to the PL but at what cost? Yeah we beat Arsenal and enjoyed days out at Man Utd and Liverpool but we nearly went bust. Who was their to steady the ship?.....AP. Fair enough Dowie was a crap appointment, But we were going in the wrong direction with PB in charge, and as far as I'm concerned nothing looked like changing. At least a new manager could've changed something. Either way IMO we werent going to stay up.
And whats wrong with Pearson being a businessman? Surley he's better off ensuring the club operates well as a business and letting the manager handle the football.

The charity I work for as a branch secretary makes about A$9.5 Million/annum( 7 Million pounds)raising money for NSW public hospitals. Nearly 1 Million hours of work is given free by people in the organisation. No one is paid anything. I concede though that in some "professional" charities remuneration is very good.

Incidentally a year or so ago TWF indirectly contributed one thousand pounds to our charity.Wombat Erik knows the story!

Possibly because the ship wasn't steadied? It was sinking fast...almost terminally.

Without Pearson, we wouldn't be where we are now. He appointed Taylor, and lead us to the Championship. Fair enough, he sold us to the tedious and pompous twat Duffen, but I guess a business man takes money when he can.

If he goes to Leeds, he goes to Leeds, but in reality, he's not going to be the one to jump start their Premier League push IMO.

Pearson was great for this club, how can there possibly be any other opinion ffs?

Just because he wasn't born and raised in hull and doesn't 'love' the club makes him a ****? I don't even know what this thread is.

In all fairness, I think the thread was started as just news that Pearson may be on his way to Leeds. Due to their possibly being Hull FC fans on here, and with him being a former City owner, people may have wanted to know.

Things were said, and comments escalated rather quickly and it's veered off course rather significantly. What was news, has turned into divided opinion which you should expect to happen on a Forum so anybody who doesn't like the thread, needn't read it. Simples <ok>

I'd say AP is more of a steadier at this level than a progresser. He did a great job getting us to the CCC & then moved on in slightly acrimonious circumstances. Everyone was up in arms when he& NB left, it was a huge shock, bit as things seemed to have come out against them both.
THIS IS NOT THE POINT TO START A WHOLE DID HE, DIDN'T HE TANGENT!
He has moved on & so have we, let's just say he will do whatever he does, either with Leeds or someone else.

He served himself, sold us off to total nonces ( a guy called Merlin called that right - much to his credit) and then came back (at a great consultant expense) to rescue us - ffs he was laughing all the way to the bank. Hey, I don't like what he did (that is his business strategy - I appreciate how we benefited, but we were a club on the ascendency and he capatlised) , but I can see he was very intelligent and very savvy and he made serious coin. I just don't like the guy and if he moved to TWS I would think many would join me - unfortunately, for all the wrong reasons.

I'm not looking for an argument here, but a 'steadier' he never was. His decisions and interferences in the football were, by and large, bizarre. His commercial involvement was mercenary and the Allams (being savvy businessmen themselves, soon sussed him - yes, of course they needed his continuity for a while and then they off-loaded. Nick Barmby was a casualty and that was a damn shame; personally, I would have been happy to have had another year or two with Nick and we all would have progressed together (aye in this league - is it really so bad?). I only say that because I believe we would have done, if AP had not had played his own cards so agressively. Nicky Barmby was the 'Baby in the bath water' and what a damn failure that was. Pearson was the architect of our building and his own decline at our club - but you can never put a good dog down; he served us well and the boy done good, but he relinquised his grip with one hand, while grasping the last shilling he could get out of us with the other. If he goes to TWS that is great; what a real stadium filler that will become!

Adam Pearson acted as a front man when he first came to Hull, he is and always will be just a middle man for others. He brokered the deal that led to the Allams buying into the club, but they never intended to be left holding the baby, it was supposed to be a consortium. Pearson is not held in high regard by Derby fans, he sold them out. I wish that I could see him in a better light but I can't.

The one thing I don't get is why he bought FC. Theres no cash in it and the game is in a total mess. I can't see him making anything from it.

Wait until you get to my age(over 3 times yours). Original Topic called 'Thank You Percival' goes back to mid-2011 when TWF was posting as Percival and is currently on Topic page 441. You commented a few months later when the event was recollected and TWF asked about his share having obviously missed the initial Thank You Post.

I feel the need to clarify my post. I do not dislike Adam Pearson and I do think that he has been a major part of why we are where we are now, a club that has a future. But at the same time I find the veneration of him too much.
Actually it is the same with the Allams, they invested in the club for reasons that don't make sound business sense and can only be described a very risky, unless they can afford to lose the money. They say the investment is to give something back and for that they deserve to be admired. I support the view that they have and are acting for the benefit for the club and for the people of Hull. I do now understand why some distrust them and why some of the changes that have been made are opposed. In the end it has to come back to business and that is why I will support them but will not worship the ground that they stand on.

I will always hold Adam Pearson in high regard because of how he saved us and helped to bankroll a push to the championship. However, there is no denying it was profitable for him and he will be hoping for a return from Leeds United should he invest (and who can blame him?)

Anyway, haven't Leeds only just been bought out by mega rich billionaire oil thieves from the middle east? So why would Adam Pearson be looking to buy?
