I've been to the Wilkin and Sons jam factory outlet in Tiptree on more than one occasion. There is a lovely little tearoom there, plus a museum which charts the history of Essex's premium fruit squashers. I think it's a nice day out, but the wife and kids keep telling me how **** it is.

 

If that's you idea of a family day out it's a wonder your wife and kids are still with you
