I don't think Dilligaf plays in the team. 90%? I'd say at least 50% couldn't give a toss about any of QPR, Norwich or Swansea.
I work with a QPR fan and we often discuss the reletive successes and failures of the the teams that were promoted a couple of Season's ago. Norwich and Swansea stuck with the teams that gained them promotion, built on the team ethic and hardwork to try and stay up - and it's worked until now. Swansea have added talent in their second season in the PL with the likes of Michu, and the results speak for themselves. QPR, my colleague suggests, panicked very quickly into their first season back in the big time and because TF had money went out and spent it like it was going out of fashion. The result was the destruction of the team that won promotion and the swift ejection of not only Warnock but many players, followed by Hughes and his management team - after he'd spent millions on 'marquee' signings. Now 'Arry's up to the same tricks. Opposing fans don't hate QPR per se, they hate the way QPR are seemingly trying to spend millions of pounds to get themselves out of trouble - not money they've earned but money gifted to them by rich benefactors. Money that teams such as Norwich and Swansea don't have. You could call it jealousy, which to a point may be true, but it's also about flying in the face of financial fair play. Come May Norwich will be debt free and self sufficient - I'm sure Swansea and in rude financial health too - and whether we're in the PL or not next season not in danger of going out of business should a sugar daddy decide to walk away.
This may not be a universally popular view because he never had a good word to say for us,but I thought Colin did quite well for them and didnt deserve the bum's rush to get Hughes in.I think if they had kept the old so and so they would have been far better placed today.
I agree with you. Mercifully - for one of the teams currently lying in 12th to 19th place in the table, they chose to 'ring in the new' which has most likely cost them their place in this division
A grumpy Yorkshireman didn't fit the Fernandes image though. His recent statement only serves to illustrate his misguided ambition. QPR will never become part of the big league. Neither will we. But we know it and our owners are happy to pay homage to the wishes of their supporters. People can take the mick as much as they want but at the moment, and despite our lengthy debates on here about the nuts and bolts, us supporters are more or less where we ever want to be with our club.
By Christ you're a smug bunch! Let's hope the dreaded 'Third Season Syndrome' (TSS) doesn't strike you down Would also point out - yet again - no one has actually been relegated yet. Us or you or Wigan or Vanilla or......
Not at all CD I welcome all views, it's just the whole 'we're debt free self sufficient isn't it a shame everyone else isn't as clever as us holier than thou' manifesto that grates somewhat However that might have something to do with the fact we're the complete opposite and have a perpetual ability to shoot ourselves in the foot - very often Part of me actually wanted you to go slightly barmy in the sales and splash out on van turkeywinkle. A very small part admittedly but I do subscribe to carras 'let's sign a marquee foreigner with a ridiculous name' view
In my experience smoke dwellers are the first ones with the 6 finger and incest references but the minute you start singing "knees up mutha brown" or make any sort of connection to them and any of the characters of only fools and horses and they start crying immediately. Literally can't take it, and we have a lot more material that incest, six fingers....... .... .... FARMERS... .... .... UNSPOILT NATURAL BROADLAND!
I'll be honest, I am extremely proud of my club's state of finances! If that makes me smug, so be it!
I'm glad that we are ignored, people that take the piss out of us just have no idea how nice it is to live here. The streets in Norfolk are broadly safe and people are still civil to eachother. You can keep your smoke.
