I know, and that's my point - he's clearly more motivated by money than love. I just thought it was an interesting insight. Personally Id rather make zero money from owning a club and it be the one I love.
If my job was owning a football club Id be happy to not make any money if it was the one I loved. I see we're not going to agree here, people have different priorities.
People have a go at Brownie for getting caught up in his ego constantly, but the reality is that AP got far more up himself than Brownie ever could, and the end result was a lot more damaging for the club. please log in to view this image Case closed really.
There is always the thought of disappointment, I am the same as you, but if I was involved with Hull City & failed I would be more devastated than failing anywhere else.
The man isn't a billionaire, he still needs to earn a living. Yes, he may have an extravagant lifestyle but he has earnt it through business deals and presumably he doesn't want to sacrifice his way of life to own Huddersfield Town.
There is no denying that Dowie was an awful appointment but I don't think for one minute that Dowie was AP's first choice to replace Brownie.
So is almost everyone else, that's why we don't all work for charities. There's some serious ****e being posted on this thread.
He could live off his missus' money alone, never mind what the considerable fortune he has amassed personally....but that's OT. As I said we're all different, Id live on minimum wage if it meant i owned the football club I love.
You never answered the question - which football club would you own if you could choose any in the UK? And what exactly is 'the serious ****e' you refer to? I think it does offer an insight into the kind of person he is. i didnt say he was wrong to be like that, he is a disgrace and Im glad he no longer has anything to do with our club. And people who work for charities often get very well paid as it goes.
Most football club owners pump their own money in and in AP's case in the hope of getting a return. It's not as simple as been on minimum wage if you owned a football club, you need the money to start off with!
Manchester United. Though I would loan all my up and coming stars to Hull City. The club I support is the club I support, it doesn't mean I wouldn't look at buying another club as a business investment and if I was to do so, I'd buy the one I thought I had the most chance to profit from. Not making a business investment, purely because the product involved isn't your personal favourite, is a ridiculous concept.
I think that CV makes him more successful than 90 percent of the chairmen in football. Your bitterness towards AP is is as emotional and irrational as your sycophancy towards Duffen. These are very feminine traits. Hell hath no fury like a Percy scorned.
And youd never get to watch City again unless we played the club you own. I guess we really are very different, I personally couldnt give two ****s about being loaded when I had the opportunity to follow my heart and I would get literally zero pleasure from the club I owned being successfull. Id always be thinking what might have been. But as Ive said continously throughout this thread, it's about different personalities - none right none wrong. I never at any stage even criticised Adam. And then you start using words like 'serious ****e' and 'ridiculous concepts' just because you dont agree with them.
