http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-21315793 Great band and real ground breaking music. Many artists were influenced by their music. When people talk about bands like The Beatles being so influential it makes me ****in laugh. Their music, initially, was for pre-pubescent teenage girls and latterly for those that like music by numbers. Tepid, inane and banal. Kraftwerk are the real deal. Bowie wouldn't be anywhere if it wasn't for them.
"their mostly middle aged, male fans cheered and clapped as they began the show.." Sounds like a blast.
Well they grew up with them. What's wrong with that? You just stick to Justin Bieber and the likes, young and happening groovy music.
Kraftwerk. Sounds about right. A couple of auld German weirdo's. Just like ER they've probably got a small child locked in some sort of device.
"OMD member Andy McCluskey, who attended Wednesday's opening night, said it's amazing that 40 years into their career, they're still relevant," he said. Amazing indeed Andy - the only time you were ever relevant was when the teacher called your name out during resigstration. Yet another shining example of Liverpool's musical shame.
They were passable but if you build an anthology of music from that city it would be way down the list of decent musical places in the UK - which is amazing when they all make out they gave the world music. The only Merseybeat anyone takes any real notice of nowadays is the one they get if they are sily enough to open their wallet in Kirby.
Scousers weren't that bad with the likes of Echo and the Bunnymen,The La's,Teardrop Explodes,The Real People and who can forget Sonia!
