    Doesn't deny it does he?

So how would we all feel about The Drog if Pards pulled it off? I think he's still the best striker in the league, and as long as the fee is sensible, I wouldn't mind giving him a decent wage. Assuming he stayed fit he'd single handedly be able to keep us in the division. He hasn't had the best season after contracting malaria early on, but he's still managed to rattle in 12 league goals and 15 assists.

A fee of about £5m, 2 years, £100k per week. I'd honestly be over the moon with that. It still seems unlikely to happen, even at 33 years of age I still think he would appeal to some of Europe's top clubs. But you never know, if anyone could twist his arm, Tiote could.

    Literally!

I would be delighted if we signed him, he is a top striker, but I doubt he will come to us sadly :(

No for £100k a week, if we break the wage budget for one player everyone will want more.

Never ever at £100k per week but a 3 year deal at 60-70k per week might be enough. His pace isn't what it was but his physical presence and his touch are still world class. I'd have him in a shot. I don't think he'd be mercenary or a mere trophy signing.

I'd be all for it, unfortunately there's one thing stopping our owner coughing up the money for his wages:

Perch could be his man servant.

    Can't get better than that!

In all honesty, it goes outside of the new ethos of the club. One player (irrespective of his stature in the game) paid well above the wage cap would just cause issues.

That, and we should have signed him after he tore us a new one when he played for Marseille.

This without doubt we surely would have broke the trophy duck with Drogba in black and white

He wouldn't come for £50k though. That deal would cost a total of £15m, I'm convinced he'd pay that back. Obviously a risk that he might get injured though.

He would be a class signing, and I think we have a good chance of signing him... He'd want to be a star player of a team and cant see him being one at one of the top four clubs, and cant see him going abroad!

However 100k a week is way to much and maybe 70k the absolute max...but he would guarntee 15 goals if he stays fit  ...

I would love if we signed Drogba - best forward in world football IMO

He is big, strong, quick, works hard, scores and makes lot of goals, defends from corners, takes good set pieces

    Sadly, it won't happen :(

He would be a quality signing for any team hopefully Tiote has been selling to him the idea of them playing together at Newcastle that will be the best chance we would have of signing him.

I think i might be one of the odd ones out on this score i'd have to say no as great a striker as he is i can't help but think of fat freddie and his trophy signings. As great a striker as he is his best days are behind him with only a few ahead of him (season 2 tops) if this is the sort of signing we're going for then why not go for Ruud van Nistelrooy to partner him both class players but both coming to the end of illustrious careers i'd be much happier signing the likes of Connor Wickham and to be honest i hope we never pay 100grand a week to anyone again (owen springs to mind) we do that and how long before the rest are banging down the managers door for a pay rise and failing to get one asking for a transfer a'la carroll.

He would also be a massive influence for our young strikers such as Shola's brother <ok>

unfortunately there is no way he is coming to Newcastle.

The handshake was because Drogba and Tiote are good personal friends - Drogba helped persuade Tiote to come to the Premiership (he would have seen European football with Twente)

Apparently Tiote and Drogba are also mutual friends of Gervinho, and have been chatting to him about the virtues of playing in the EPL, specifically for Newcastle. This is according to rumour on twitter anyways...

There is no 'I' in team. I had to tell the dyslexic office junior that today.

If she didn't have a cracking rack... well; life woould be far harder for her.
