Chelsea and Man City have spent way more than us so the only surprise is that the gap is not bigger. Man Utd have spent a lot too and have benefitted from a stable environment whereas just recently we have changed owners and management. There is nothing for us to be bitter about. We still win cups while we rebuild. We will move up the table, you will move down. Normal service will soon be restored.
When we spent it correctly we were top 4 and one of the best teams in Europe. (Granted only 1 of those years actually challenging for title) When we spent it incorrectly and almost went bust, no club at all, then we got into a bit of pickle.

Let me spell it out for you in very simple words so that you at least have a chnance to understand. You may have been around for a longer sustained period than the majority of clubs but you have actually achieved very little in comparison to some others, your have no money in the club and cannot secure the same size of commercial contracts as your nearest opponent. In those term (foreshortened to silverware and income) you've not been very successful. Seems like you are the only simpleton who can't understand that.
