I am genuinely scared that that will be the next to go, because logically you are right, but I think seeing them play frequently, thinking about the club way too much and hanging around on here may stave it off.....

its not so much the cash they have but the ease of getting a cap nowadays (Betty anyone??) and the blase attitude to it. Gerrard and (dare I say it) Lampard and Terry may be exceptions, but they are throwbacks. Walcott whining on about wanting to play CF.....look at the players who only got a handful of caps or no caps at all in the past and thank your lucky stars you get a kick at all son.

Having said all that playing Brazil is always interesting. The game in the 70 World Cup was probably the first time I understood the subtlety and beauty of the sport, how defenders could be great as well as goalscorers, what commitment, timing and intelligence could do.

Only Englishmen to comment on this strand please (unless there are any Brazilian QPR fans out there of course).

To me the good thing about international football is that you can't get to pick and choose normally. So unlike the cretinous glory hunters that surround clubs like Arsenal and the scum we're all in together for good, bad or (mainly) indifferent. Englishmen saying they've 'given up on England' is just nonsense. Ignore them if you want but they're yours like it or not.

As for supporting Julio Cesar: does that mean I have to think about supporting Scotland if Jamie Mackie is in a team that plays England? Thought not.

One word of advice mate eat / drink outside the ground as its rip off Britain once you get there

If your having beers there's a pub on wembley hill road which is pretty decent albeit beers prices go up in the local pubs on match days

I think I generally agree with every word of that. I guess my basic patriotism takes over and I tend to blank out the rest.

Also....if you're using the tube, allow for huge delays after the game getting back into the station.

A bit off OP, but I watched most of the England U21 freiendly against Sweden's U21 last night - a very impressive performance, and I hear they been doing very well. Perhaps all is not so unpromising with English football's future due to many players coming from Overseas as some on here have been saying.

I tend to agree with you mate.
I think, with the likes of Wilshire and Ox-Chamberlaine to mention but two, England are looking reasonably ok.

He was already carrying an apparent groin strain last Saturday, getting Samba to take some of the kicks and wincing a little when he did kick himself. Although fit, I would love to see him in action for Brazil against England, the last thing we want is for him to aggrevate an injury, so would therefore prefer to see him stay on the bench.

Before you sing the anthem tonight why not consider the truth:

Alright folks. Been confusing those around me by cheering England, and shouting for Ceeeee-sar. He made a stunning save from that header, but I guess you all saw that eh! Stadium is magnificent.
