Danny Rose has hinted that he could make a permanent move to Sunderland in the summer after revealing that he would not be prepared to return to Tottenham 'to sit on the bench'. The defender is currently on a season-long loan deal from White Hart Lane and has become a regular starter under manager Martin O'Neill. The England Under-21 international has shown impressive form for the Black Cats and has started more games in one season for the Wearsiders than he did in six years at Spurs. He is now ready to concentrate on finishing the season at the Stadium of Light and is in no rush to return to north London. Rose, 22, is also hoping to get a chance of making the step up on the international scene. "I honestly do not know what will happen next season," admitted Rose. "I do love Tottenham, they have done a lot for me over the years, I will be forever grateful for the stage I am at now. It's hugely down to them. "But I am not prepared to go back to sit on the bench and watch other people play football. I've done that enough. "I've got friends progressing into the England team and being in the squads. I'd like to think one day I'll have a shot at doing that. "I'll only get that when I'm playing week-in, week-out, and I'm doing that here. I'm enjoying it here and I love being back up north. "Nothing has been discussed with the management here or the management there about what's going to happen next season. "I want to reiterate I will not be looking to sit on somebody else's bench again." http://www1.skysports.com/football/...sfer-news-Danny-Rose-hints-at-Sunderland-stay
Love his attitude, if we have any sense what so ever we already have a gentlemen's agreement to sign him in the summer and this transfer should happen immediately when the window opens to give the club and fans a good lift for the new season. The last thing we want is to piss about and he ends up at West Ham or someone, to say I would be foaming is an understatement.
Really hope we get him. I love watching him play the game - he is a very good player - the only issue we have with him is that the dodgy ****er Levy is involved! He's the sort of person that would make someone sit on the bench if they didn't do what he wanted - his value has gone up since we got him without doubt!
There is no gentleman s agreement to sign Danny, Levy said in December that he was very much in tottenhams plans and we only got confirmation that Danny could stay for the rest of he season in January. Levy is a very tricky customer when it comes to transfer dealings and if he decided that he can move we will have to pay top dollar for him, and I mean top top dollar.not sure what is left on his spurs contract but I think it still has a bit to run which plays even more into Levys hands. Personally I would pay whatever the going rate is to get him.
Tell you another I wouldnt mind from Spurs, Sigurrdson! £10 million plus Sess for Rose & Siggy, tempted anyone? haha
Theres another canny player called Bale !, now get him on loan with Defoe, Ronaldo, and Xavi and i will be happy next season.
Just hope we are straight in there with negotiations, some of his last ditch tackles have been unreal!
Question.. If he is that good, and the club want him, and another club come in for him (let's say Liverpool) who will certainly pay him more, why will he stay?
He has stated several times how much he likes it up here, virtually guaranteed first team football, knows how MON works, well liked by supporters , nothing to prove , maybe.............
You asking me? I'd be off like a shot. Love this ****e of people saying 'you earn 30k a week that;s enough'.... Offer me 40.50/60 i'm outta there..Same as Danny Rose will be.
I don't think we will get him. Tottenham will have their people watching him, and he could well be their 1st choice LB next year. Future England LB and if he keeps progressing, will have a top career.
