Its 75 years this season since we were last the Champions of England; 38 since we last won a trophy. We have had more relegations than a prostitute sees willies in a week and even a decent into the 3rd tier of English football to contend with. We constantly have our hopes and dreams shattered on the rocks of despair and seem to revel in ritual humiliation. In all that, just when we seem to be on the right tracks we seem to manage to steer away from the road to success and head straight for the route of perpetual failure. Okay, I may ladle it on a bit thick bit you get the drift. Yet, despite all that, we STILL manage to muster a home average of some 40,000 again at the SOL. A reamarkable achievement and a fantastic reminder (where it ever needed) that the NE is indeed still the hottest of hot beds for football in the UK (and I do include the darkside in that as well). Could Man Utd, Liverpool or Arsenal still attract 40,000 with an empty trophy room for 40 years? Not a cat in hells chance. Recent days have shown that we can all still disagree on many issues and to a very heated degree but on thing is for sure. As fans of our club, we are second to absolutely no-one in the world of football. It makes me extremely proud to be a Sunderland fan.
Not everyone on this board would of agreed with your last thread, but nobody can argue against this one! We are class We will win a trophy soon! I just know it, I think the FA Cup beckons in the next season or 2. If Stoke can get to the final then why can't we?
Spot on: we are a diverse bunch of fans with often widely differing opinions, but the common denominator is that we all love this club of ours despite the hurt they seem to inflict on us on a regular basis.
Spot on Cest, apparently the boo boys were in fine voice at the Emirates yesterday when the players came back on and that's Arsenal FFS.
Forget the best fans crap, I want to know how you know about how many willies a prostitute sees in a week.
I dont care whether people agree with me and never have been that way inclined. I have my points of view and I'll fight my corner thus. Some poeple are just whey too sensitive to engage in an argument and should stay clear if they dont like the fall out. However, one thing unites us all. The unquestionable devotion we share for the football club. If we were to win a trophy in my lifetime I'd die a happy man. Can I see it happening soon. Honestly? No, not really but its the dreaming and hope that spurs my passionate stance on. Take a bow everyone.
It’s not their fault that blind pig ignorance is rife in Ashley’s Army. I think Mag fans are as loyal and passionate as us on Wearside, only on a much lower intellectual level.
I'd have thought glasses and some reading lessons would have been more useful I could have added that at least the craas have had 15 years of good football, including 10 years in Europe to pull in the 'loyal' fans. I could have said that pre-Keegan their 'loyal' fans were absent without notice but I didnââ¬â¢t. I chose the olive branch and offered a compliment. Serves me right for offering it to a bunch of cretinous filth in the first place. Lesson learned!
