Just posted on the subbuteo thread but I thought about Roy of the Rovers. Well we had a Sunday league team from Griffin called Melchester Rovers - Roy's team - arch rivals The Full Moon!. Who did you play for can you beat Melchester Rovers? Who did you hate? - always dreaded going to Danygraig Park on a Saturday. Thursday league I played for the Milk and one game the infamous Mickey Baker was playing for the taxis - no-one tackled him - best game of the season was always the Police versus the Taxis!!
Used to play for Ilford Wanderers, Rugby in London. Games against Met Police C division at Chigwell. You knew it was going to hurt in the morning.
Used to play.for bonymaen never hated playing anywhere really but.loved playing.on our home pitch at the time it was the best kept pitch in.swansea. loved the local derbies with the colts stars and of course winch wen. west end was always the benchmark in those days before they went Welsh league if you got a result against them then you knew you were challenging for the league.
Currently play for Murton Rovers. Currently 2 games off the west Wales cup final at the Liberty! Hate playing anyone in Myneddth Newyth.
Used to play for Kingsbridge. Used to hate playing against West End cos they were rough and we were tiny . Mynedd Newydd was pretty horrible. Enjoyed playing on the Vetch in the county cup final but got spanked 3-0 by St Josephs.
Used to play for Swansea Boys Club, Plasmarl and Coopers Arms. Master Mynydd Newydd at winter that still sends shivers down me.
hated Murton , because it has the biggest pitch in creation , ( little legs and small lung capacity isn't a great combination)

Remember playing at Mynydd Newydd against Swansea City in the senior league - playing for them that day was Dai Davies in goal and Gaffer Wheel at Centre half - honest
