Must say I wonder what would have happened If Robins didn't score that day lol (Against Bury wasn't It?)
LoL I couldn't resist I looked on Wiki and It was away to Nottinham Forest I wish I let you give In to temptation now I have been In tears since
lol at you lot getting all pissy as I'm daring to insult the value of the mighty League cup, a competition that prior to you lot going 6 years without a pot, you scoffed at & indeed did coin the phrase 'mickey mouse' yourselves back in the day. I also remember plenty of kopites ripping the piss out of Spurs when they won it in '08. (IYKYH) I should have realised that it's now on a par with the Champions League But in your desperation to defend the value of your only pot in 6 years, you've still missed the salient point that I made. That being that it's the easiest cup to win, due to the fact that the bigger clubs have it bottom of their priority list - that's a fact. You only have to compare a list of the finalists for the last 20 years with that of the FA Cup to have proof of that. As for EFC, of course I'd love us to win it, it's a competition that we've never won & Moyes record in it is quite poor, but that doesn't alter that fact that it's nowhere near the level of the FA Cup & even if we won it, my view on that reality wouldn't alter. It's called having a sense of perspective, try it sometime, you might like it
I have to agree with boots. It is the least important trophy of the lot, but we have won it more times than any other club, so we obviously don't mind having it in our possession.
The desperation your trying to hide aint working Tobes, there's a strong likelihood the blueshite will finish 5th this season and the glittering prize will be a place in the Europa which you'd come in your kecks at the prospect of, the FA Cup winners get a place in the Europa so whats with the 'it's nowhere near near the level of the FA Cup'. It's so 'easy to win' that Everton haven't managed to win it when you reckon everyone plays their weakest sides in it, as for the FA Cup, are you saying that certain clubs don't play weakened sides in that competition?. Bottom line is EFC are so ****e they can't win **** all(even the League Cup)
Everton are just a Stoke who have been failing for longer to win anything while in the Premier League
Wrong again mate, I couldn't give a **** about the Europa League, the novelty wore off after a couple of outings in it. The Sunday League fixtures are a pain in the arse & combined with the strain it puts on the squad, to me, it's more bother than it's worth. So if we don't get 4th (which I doubt we will) I'd rather we finished in a position that doesn't have a Europa league place attached to it. I've already said we've done poorly in the League cup, you're right we probably should have won it, or at least got to a final or 2 in recent years. But even if we had, it wouldn't all of a sudden become a major competition as far as I'm concerned, as I'd be kidding myself if I ever said it was anything other than the 'mickey mouse'. As for weakened sides in the FA Cup, I told you earlier, look at the list of the finalists for the last 20 year compared to that of the League Cup, tells you all you need to know.
Everton are one of the countries most successful football clubs. We have the 2nd longest continuous top flight seasons record (currently 59 consecutive years) & have spent longer in english football's top division than any other football club. Stoke have been back in the top flight 5 years & can't hold a candle to a club like Everton, you ignoramus
Spending all that time in the top flight means jack if you have nothing to show for most of that time.
Only if you count longevity as success can Everton even be considered as remotely successful. The history of the old Football league is strewn with clubs now in the Premiership who have had to suffer relegation only to come back and have true success.
