I see, an early Super Cup football if I'm not mistaken.

Swim, I fear my sense of humour was lost in translation.
Sorry if I caused offence fella.

I reckon a dig around in the attic might be worthwhile as rare teams are changing hands for £50, can't find any Namibia team on various sites, can't find the Scotland 86 kit (the one with the band around the shorts) either....but it's pointless me looking in the attic as I am sure my mam gave all my subbuteo away to someone less fortunate (Swim or PGF for example)....the terrifying bitch that she is (only joking mum fans)

Thanks Terror. Coincidentally, I decided to take a look on the net and found the same site you did.

Used to play down Dai Squib's house I had all white - Real Madrid who at the time were the best Di Stefano Puskas, Gento etc. and of course the Swans. We had the league tables from the Tiger - you know the one with slots that you moved the teams up and down on - ah Roy of the Rovers.
We had a team from the Griffin in the Sunday league - Melchester Rovers!!! - had a reunion last year down Wind street when we came back to see the Swans play wolves!!

I had it ! Also had the scoreboard, floodlights and grandstand. I used to cut the goalposts up though. I wanted the back posts like we have nowadays - they only used to be used by European teams at the time it seemed. We always had the curve from the top of the post that returned to the post a little lower - just like at the vetch. I remember Trevor Brooking scoring for West Ham and the ball got jammed in the curve. Anyway I'd snap that curve off, and glue straws to the back of the base of the goals to make them look like the 'Euro style' goalposts. Always Ironed the pitch and then got so frustrated with the game that it would be packed away within 10 minutes.
The teams I remember having were Swansea, Wales, Argentina and....... Cardiff ! This was around 1978 - probably a Christmas gift after the World Cup in Argentina. Mario Kempes was king.

Fond memories of Subbuteo but time moves on. I've had much more fun playing FIFA on the XBox. Why? Because it's good. Sign of the times I'm afraid.
