"With regards to Tarrabt, sorry but ther opportunity was too good to miss, cant believe so many took it so seriously?" So which is it Queens? Having a wind up or meaning what you say?
That means that people REALLY REALLY got the hump about it. If he hadnt have missed the penalty 7 continued his first 20 min performance I have absolutely no doubt that people on hee would post and crucify me & swords. Fortunately he ****ed up again and we were given the oppportunity to post before the "great tarbs Love In" started again I guess you read the post and decided not to take it in, or ignore it or something? I thought the last post made my stance crystal clear with regards to him but if you want me to spell it out AGAIN I will So, Just for you: When we got promoted I said "I dont think tarbbs will cut it in the Premiership next season" and apart from the fanatics I was pretty much proven right, despite the odd fantastic performance.- agreed? i then agreed with Queenslndrangers that if he put the hard graft in this season he COULD become a good prem player. Now the fact that he may be (one of) the best player(s) in the team doesnt really count for much, considering were sitting bottom of the league with only 2 wins. I dont expect tarbs to do it all himself and i openly recognise his skill & ability. i also repeatedly post positive things about his transformation and improvement. What i was getting at when i made the initial statements, wa that regardless of his skill, he did not have the mental and phscological assets to cope withbeing consistent in the premiership. all of that was shown up last year but has not been so prevailent this season. I also posted that i think he is playing his best football ever for us and has far surpassed wht he did playing in the NPC, where he basically took the P out of old blokes. So yes col, I do beliee what i have said, but remeber its only my opinion. Others have thier own opinions and it just astounds me how upset and insulted certain posters get when i point out obvious things like missing a penalty ball far to long etc You Col are guilty of this & get offended by someone taking a detache dview of not only tarbs but others. i dont mean that as an insult by the way. unfortunately, because of our location, supporters abroad get a much more "detached" view of the game & as I posted a while ago, we dont get as wrapped up in the emotion sweeping the ground or the crowd mentality / feeling. that enables a lot of us to have differing views from those that attend matches and some may be right, some wrong but hey are varying opinions. Finally mate, i dont have the time for too many wind ups. Yeah, like others i may have a laugh. For eg i know if i post something about tarbs, the same usual suspects will reply disagreeing, but i have never posted anything i dont believe.....I dont think the other side is that people like Norf know that if they post about tarbs being good, the odds on me & swords replying are "quite high" I dont have anything against any poster on this site, regardless of what others feelings may be & the only two occaisions i ever did, were both because I and other posters had been insulted & patronised. I like DT, do not take that from anyone so I will fight my (and others) corner. fortunatley 1 ended up well, the other not so much! anyway thats OT. Hope i have answered your question? Cant make it any clearer than that!
Fortunately he ****ed up again and we were given the oppportunity to post before the "great tarbs Love In" started again Queens, you ruined an otherwise well crafted response by writing this bull**ite. Are you waiting for Adel to fook up so you can gloat? I find this line incredible. When Adel missed that kick my Saturday and indeed my whole weekend fell apart. You're an avid and dedicated QPR fan who usually posts strong and robust views and that's exactly what this forum is for. Just don't understand the above comment.
Badly worded mate, that is all. Im sure you and others are aware that grammar isnt my strong point. i suppose i should have said "unfortunately" as i did when speaking about supporting from abroad? For the record...I, Like everyone else, had my head in my hands when he missed. Not gonna debate the pen, but just too say I was as gutted as those of you who went to the game. I appologise if it was taken the wrong way, and I in no way wait for him to f-up. in fact i wait for him to have a blinder as I enjoy the banter and posts I get aimed at us Tarbs "haters"! Lets get this straight. i am in no way a hater, and know what T can do..I just want him to do it...consistently..thats all...ALA Cesar? Again, my appologies if anybody took this the wrong way. I'l try to type a bit slower and re-read in future.!
Queens...how you can think he has let us down for 2 seasons is beyond me. I would also like to add that my tongue never goes near another man's arse, so please dont suggest otherwise. Not sure why you have decided to put me in the camp of "Adel arse lickers" just because I groaned when we get another Adel bashing thread. I did not agree/disagree with your OP was just trying to make the point that this is a topic that has been done to death. Did not see the need for a thread repeating the same old crap (from both sides). Obviously I was wrong, as we have another 4 pages of comments on the subject...
Me too. COL is a top poster but sometimes he allows his heart rule his head when it comes to Tarbs. And he's not the only one either. I made that point about a year ago in a long post I wrote. I still hold it to be very true. Not so much of the game itself (I still believe nothing compares to being at the Ground) but more so of the Club itself. Ever since I can remember I've been quite amazed at how our fans (and fans of all other Clubs to be fair) can get carried away so easily. This is evident nowhere more so than at the end of the pre-season, just before the season kicks off. Every single year, without fail, the majority of our fan base start talking of ridiculously high-placed finishes, the brilliance of our players and the shi*tyness of our opposition. I realise that to some that's part and parcel of enjoying supporting a Club. To me, its just silliness. I know some people won't like it when I say this but I do really believe that when you're living hundreds/thousands of miles away from the Club, you tend not to get caught up in the hype and nonsense that can otherwise take a hold of people. Of course that works the other way around too. The highs of winning something are no doubt less than of those who go week in week out and see the team succeeding. And I do believe that local guys have something - a connection - to the Club that I'll never have. Well at least not in the same way. But what I'm saying is that that "oneness" with the Club comes at a cost. Take the other day for example. There are none that I've come across, on this Board or in "real-life", that are more passionate and die-hard about Rangers than Nines. When we're doing sh*t, his suffering is palpable. Even on a detached medium like this message Board I can actually feel the guys pain coming through on his posts. After the Norwich game I was having a laugh and a joke with Gandy who's by and large a decent poster - unlike the rest of the Norwich wums on this Site. I didn't think anything of it. But Nines pulled me up immediately saying that I was being disloyal to the R's and that I should have empathy with the pain he and others were going through at that time. I didn't understand what his problem was but upon closer examination, his plight is that of a man who is quite literally part of the very fabric of QPR and when the Club suffers, he suffers too. Like really suffers. I don't have that intangible closeness to the Club because I was brought up in a different Country. Sure I get well pissed off when we're f*cking up but I don't think its the same. Another example would be Stan losing the head yesterday when Kiwi posted up an article that basically said Fernades was playing poker with his pants down and gambling with the very future of the Club. I thought the article was very well put together but Stan was having none of it and attacked Kiwi and Kampala. Not in a bad way but it showed the passion that guys can have about the Club. The problem I find is that that passion can cloud judgement on occasion and suck people into a kind of bubble where reality gets distorted. My reaction to the article was, if any other small Club were behaving the way we are, I would indeed find its behaviour extravagant to say the least. Kampala realised this and is it a coincidence that he resides thousands of miles away from West London? Maybe it is, I don't know. But I definitely believe there is something in what Queens has said. I'm surprised you said that mate. I don't understand that. The only thing I can think is that you got caught up in the excitement of a Tarbs argument which, I admit, can get a bit tasty at times. I'm sure you regret that statement.
Mate, i've explained and backed up my opinions on so many times its getting a bit like pulling teeth! I worded that wrongly, but its no suprise someone picked up on it in defense of Tarbs and pulled me up on it. There was no mention of anything else I posted and seems to me just another example of others looking to justify the undie-ing support that only certain players are afforded? i may be reading it wrong, I dont know? But what i do accept is that some people will never see the truth even if its played for them 100 times on a replay. Like i said, my opinions are exactly that...my opinions. I dont expect or even want everyone to agree with me. But i wont be bullied into say certain players are the best in the world, or even best pen takers, like Pirate was yeterday! To Col's credit, he posted a comment about watching a game on tv a week or so ago & has since not mentioned anything about being at the game etc. I think he has a greater appreciation after realising what he said & what we see. We've finally got him over to the dark side !!
Fair enough mate. I know you didn't mean it the way it sounded. I remember him admitting as much. But he has given me the "you don't get to games" line since then!!!
Queens put a good deal of effort into addressing your points COL. The least you could do is acknowledge it.
Swords For me that's one of your best posts on here. I fully understand what you are saying. I know QPR is a massive part of my life but I will never experience the same level of emotions that say 999s, Col or Finglas will feel. People who live near the club or travel regularly to home or away games will always have a stronger emotional connection. I envy them in so many ways, however I also understand and agree with your point that its easier for us to get less emotional. It's doesn't mean we care less just because we live on the other side of a sea. It must be pretty hard also for the likes of Queens who enjoyed first hand the roller coaster ride of being a season ticket holder for so long and now has to watch from afar like several of us on here. I think that's why so many of us overseas Rrrsss use this forum so much. It's our way of keeping in touch, our way of showing our limited support and our way of getting our daily QPR fix.
Fair enough mate. I know you didn't mean it the way it sounded. We all know that Queens did not mean that. I admire the way he stands his ground and argues his point. Nothing divides this board more than a good Adel thread. I dare say we will have many more. Is Adel a world class player? I'm probably not qualified to answer that but I do know that he is undoubtedly our most creative player and without him I think our team would be totally blunt and void of creativity. Last year many on here rightly criticised him for his lack of effort and poor attitude. This year he has been a model professional and can now rightly be considered as one of our hardest working players. He's no Messi but then again who else is. He's our best player and he had now earned our unwavering support. He's the only player we have capable of that moment of pure genius. The only player who can lift you out of your seat (or couch). He does not deliberately go out to play badly. He is human after all. Lets stop the childish bickering and support the lad while we have him.
Im not sure why people even have these debates over players.....especially players like Tarrabt. He can be infuriating sometimes, in terms of making the wrong decisions....taking on too many players sometimes...BUT as time has gone on he is slowly improving every aspect of his game and he will only get better. One of....if not the BIGGEST issue with our team is that we have one of the least creative midfields i've ever had the grace of watching.....the lack of movement or any form of 3 way triangle passing is totally non-existent and in this respect if we didnt have Tarrabt I litterally couldnt see us creating ANYTHING....for anyone who had the misfortune of attending the MK Dons match, this was so apparent that we coulnt even break down a league 1 side. Tarrabt gives us that little spark of creativity and will set up goals for us (and score them on occasion)...his pass to Remy highlights his ability to cut open defences...something no other midfielder we posses can do and no matter what your opinion is on Tarrabt, whther you like him or not you cannot deny that. Other teams know this as well....in the Norwich game, the moment he got the ball in the 1st half he had 3 players on him...you dont see that on any other player of ours. I think gloating over him missing a penalty isnt really needed....just as gloating when he has a great game would be of an equal nature. Tarrabt is an asset to QPR.....not a hinderance and anyone who thinks we would be better off without him needs their head checking as our creativity would be ZILCH!!
Cheers NUTSY. The unfortunate thing is that when Finglas claimed that those who don't go to games are not supporters but just fans, after an initial involuntary kickback, I realised that he probably had a point. Its a pity he lost the plot that time and left the Board because he was actually making a good deal of sense.
To be fair Frankie, Queens has put that one to bed. He got caught up in the heat of the argument and had a momentary lapse of judgement. The rest of your post is very good mate.
I actually droll over Taarabt as he says to me everything I like in a footballer. I have always disliked the stereotypical English player and the game. I have a 30 year connection with France and so i will always be biased when it comes to the composure and skills levels that have been on show from French based players particularly from the South. It's about time that France was given the credit to improving the game overall. Even the many small games I played in France there was always a level of skill we could not match or understand ... Swords and Queens are very much dinosaurs on the topic. I maintain Taarabt will become a world talent and we are lucky to have him. Simple today he is sensational the vision he has is remarkable. The pen will hurt expect him to sort out those beautiful swans Saturday
So just to finish off, Col- I hope that wexplained it for you. DT - as for dinosaurs, I have always said that i love La Liga. most posters know this and Flyer was aware of it on old board, so i would say that being as i personally believe it to be the best league in the world (another debate for another time) it is your out-dated French league that sets you apart as the dinosaur. You still follow a clearly disfunctional (French) national team and i would suggest watch el classico every now and again. I dont dis-agree with much you've said DT apart frm MH & Tarbs. Nuts - Thanks fankster- we have these discussions because its the only way I can discuss in detail performances of a player some 12000kms away. There's a few of us here nbut not as many as back home. I always like to hear when a player plays well and what they do etc...i also like to address issues of why a player does not play well and who agrees / disagrees. We have a similar situation with Cisse'. I for one, and I know there are others, think it was a mistake to sell him & i know others think he was lazy, ****e crap etc. Its nothing personal mate, just you guys in HQ will have a diffrent view to some of us. Only by reading as many views as possible can we get to somewhere near the real truth i believe. With regard to your last post, i did post something the other day (& Brix too i think) that may go against it: Does anyone think that if we were to sell Tarbs, then the rest of the team may be forced to play as a team? rather than 1 star act and 10 support acts?. I dont know personally & I totally agree with your point re: creativity. But, is that just because the others are told to pass it to Tarbs and see what happens? We didnt do to bad with him out the squad last year at City and other games? Its just an honest question with no agenda that a few of us have touched on. What do you think? Anyway, although we are probably down, i'm gonna keep faith in Harry till we mathmatically cant do it. even though we got rid of our biggest goal threat & his replacement is injured for god knows how long...we still have a chance..and SWP!!!! Keep the Faith guys !
Swords, I am just popping by to make a polite request to you. I am not here for a row ok. For the second time you have made a statement about me which I disagree with. You said that I "lost the plot and left the board". That's a quote/unquote. First of All, I didn't lose the head. Secondly, you have no clue why I left the board. The only people on here who know are the two mods. I have given them my reasons in writing. I may not be posting but I am still reading. Thanks in advance.
