Me too. I was in bed for two weeks and have never felt as rough. Coughed so much that I ended up bringing up blood. Tried every day to convince myself that I was better and lasted 10 minutes before having to go back to bed.

Great way to drop a few pounds though. Half a stone in 2 weeks without any effort.

There's a lot of effort in coughing. It requires a wide range of muscles. Useless fact of the day <laugh>

I have a cough at the minute. It's been my close companion for 2 weeks, my wife has had a cough for 3 weeks. There's a lot of it about apparently. Our GP friend was round yesterday and said it was being referred to as the 100 Day Cough. Smashing.

Tell me about it. I almost passed on last Tuesday from coughing so much. Had a massive coughing fit when lying down, sat up to try and spit out when I'd finished and my vision completely greyed out. Was quite scary for a minute or two until the blood came back into my head.

I like the "I don't care, leave me alone" attitude I've developed but would love to be a bit more healthy, I'm ok now that I've been diagnosed (bronchiectasis) but it's a pain that it means I have to stay indoors during bad weather or I'll be laid up for weeks.

Excuse to be lazy I suppose so I shouldn't complain.

It's tempting to say "leave me alone" but I'm glad that they didn't listen - just so I can truly be an old fart and piss everybody off <laugh>

About ten years ago when I still smoked (cigars too) I was sitting at home with manflu, dosed up with every conceivable medicine, drinking wine and a hot, brandy toddy (very strong) and I developed a coughing fit and desperately needed a glass of water. tried to get to the kitchen and 'greyed out' just like you did. Woke up un the kitchen floor, could have been out seconds or minutes, i still don't know.

But here's the thing - if that is all there is to dying, there's nothing to be scared about. No white lights to go towards, no demons dragging me down to eternal damnation, just sweet oblivion. Don't get me wrong, I don't want to die in the sense that I'd feel there was party going on and I'd be missing out, but that was the case the billions of years this universe existed before I was born too, and worrying about death won't stop it happening.

Sorry to be morbid. a work colleague (61) died in his sleep last week. Liverpool supporter too, the day after Oldham. The last time I saw him in the staff carpark on Monday we bemoaned our loss, slagged off Coates and Allen, he went home and died in his sleep. Hell, maybe my negativity saw him off.

He used to tell me to stop droning on about Suarez too. :emoticon-0114-dull: Wish I could see the guy one more time to try and be a bit happier and less morose.

    Ain't death ****ing final?
